Reading of The Box for the Read Me a Story Blog Hop

Today I'm sharing a reading of my children's picture story book The Box as part of the Read Me a Story Blog Hop on the Writers and Authors site. I hope you enjoy it.

I also wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that I'll be running a photo contest via my Facebook page in a few days time where you can win a kindle copy of The Box. To enter the contest you just need to post a photo to my page showing what you can do with a box. Can't wait to see kids and grown ups having some creative fun with this one :)

If you can't wait to get your hands on a copy of The Box, you can get a copy here:

  1. Love the concept of your book. I can't remember how many times I got lost in adventures as a young child with a big (or not so big) box.

    1. Thanks for dropping by. I have two young boys and they love creative play. We've made all sorts of things out of cardboard boxes; castles, houses, kitchens... the list goes on. They always have loads of fun. Whenever we get a big box I can see the looks on their faces as they're already thinking up ideas for what it could be.

  2. Argh! I lost my comment during a preview! :-(

This is a great idea for a kid's book! My husband and our cat approve. :D
As kids we used to have plenty of fun with boxes, building everything that ranged from forts to buses to anything we had in mind back then. Even as adults we still enjoy silly boxed fun, e.g. at parties where one needs a costume.

    1. Thanks for dropping by. Glad you like it :) Boxes can be used for so many crafts and games and are cheap and easy to get hold of too. One of the reasons I wrote the book is that I wanted to remind both adults and kids that sometimes the simple things are just as fun as all the expensive games around today.

I'm running a photo contest on my Facebook page this week (https://www.facebook.com/JoLinsdell/photos/a.262243220482052.67869.152154834824225/810976598942042/?type=1) where people post their best photo showing what they can create with a box. Hope you'll take part :)
