This week I picked The Lafayette Sword by Eric Giacometti, Jacques Ravenne
Gold. Obsession. Secrets. Following the murder of a Freemason brother, Antoine Marcas uncovers unsettling truths about gold and its power to fascinate and corrupt. A priceless sword is stolen and deaths ensue setting the Freemason detective on a case of Masons turned bad. A clue points to mysteries and conspiracy about elusive pure gold, launching a frantic, deadly race between two symbolic places-the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. A captivating plot weaves alchemy and the Middle Ages into a modern-day thriller. With "vivid characters, an evocative international setting, and history darker than midnight," this thriller is for readers who love ancient myths, secret societies, chilling narrative and modern speed. - Over 200,000 copies sold in France alone - The series has sold over 2 million copies worldwide - Published in 18 countries.
This sounds like an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteI hosted the authors over at www.writersandauthors.info for an interview when it released and liked the sounds of it.

ReplyDeleteWell that's a good reason to read it ;)
DeleteWhat a great way to showcase books, and to remember which ones you want to read. And a book that I want to check out!
ReplyDeleteI have so many books on my tbr and always feel bad for neglecting them. When I came across this weekly meme I knew I had to take part.
DeleteHaven’t read a thriller in a while... good one
ReplyDeleteI LOVE thrillers. Ever need any suggestions I'm sure I can help :)
DeleteJudging by the synopsis it must be a lot like Dan Brown's books: great mystery, lots of running around, chasing and being chased. I hope you'll enjoy it when you read it.
ReplyDeleteMy Goodreads Monday post
That's what I was thinking. I've heard good things about this one. Hopefully it will live up to the hype.
DeleteSounds like an interesting book! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw it pop up a lot when it was first released, and even hosted the authors on my other blog. I added it to my tbr straight away. Can't believe I still haven't gotten round to reading it if I'm honest.
DeleteI like books like this. I am a sucker for historical mysteries like this. Of course I'm gullible enough to believe almost all of them. I wish my history classes had included this kind of information (suspicions). It might have made the classes more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a history geek, and as you know I love thrillers and mystery. This definitely has all the elements I love.
DeleteGreat post, ohh this book looks and sounds really intriguing plus this is the first time I heard about it. I absolutely love the gorgeous cover as well! Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.
