I missed updating you on my BookTubeAThon progress so here's my updates for days 3 and 4 of the reading challenge. So far I'm doing really well. In fact, I don't think I've ever done this well in past years of participating in the BookTubeAThon reading challenge. I think I might actually stand a chance of winning this year!

Another Booktubeathon has passed... and what a fun week it was! I love Booktubeathon. The whole community is great, and I discovered so many new booktubers throughout the week.
For today's post I thought I'd share with you a summary of what happened during this years challenge.
The reading challenges:
I didn't do too badly here.
1. A book with a person on the cover. I didn't finish The Princess Diarist which was the book I selected for this challenge but I do get to tick off the challenge anyway as Second Honeymoon had people on the cover.
2. Hyped book. I choose 50 Shades of Grey for this one and although I did start reading it, I didn't finish.
3. Finish a book in a day. I picked Moranifesto for this one, but unfortunately didn't complete this challenge as the kids kept me way to busy.
4. Read about a character very different from you. I choose The Devils Prayer for this one but didn't get round to starting it. I can tick off the challenge as completed though as there were characters in the books I did finish that mean I met this task.
5. Read a book completely outdoors. I choose Second Honeymoon for this challenge and get to tick it off as completed. Between my friends garden, the beach, and the pool I finished the book reading only outdoors.
6. Read a book because of the cover. I choose Coming Home To Cuckoo Cottage for this one and can tick is off as completed.
7. Read 7 books. I added Dating the It Guy to my TBR for this one but unsurprisingly, I didn't manage it. 7 books in 7 books with the kids off school was most definitely the hardest challenge.
So I didn't complete all the reading challenges but I don't think I did too badly. I also enjoyed the books I read so I'm happy with how it went. Next readathon I'll be picking shorter books though. I might have even managed to do 7 in 7 if I had.
Then there were the daily video challenges. I love these and had planned on doing them all but just didn't have the time.

I can't believe it's day 7 already. This week went by so fast. I didn't manage to read all 7 books on my list for this week, but I did have a blast taking part in my first ever BookTubeAThon :)
I'm still slowly working my way through Emma by Jane Austen. It's an awesome book so far though and so worth it even if it did slow me down considerably.
The Book Cover Stories Challenge
Today's challenge is to describe the plot of a book using the book covers of other books. I chose one of my favourite reads Carrots by Colleen Helme. Watch my Book Cover Story here:
As tomorrow is the last day it's not looking likely that I'll meet all the challenges. Jane Austen has slowed me down considerably... but is totally worth it.
I have also been reading, and reviewing, some ARCs of children's books I was sent by publishers via Net Galley this week and so technically have gone way over 7 books read... although most of those had an average of 36 pages and so can hardly be counted towards my total ;)

Day 5 of BookTubeAThon is the hardest yet. It's super hot here in Rome which isn't helping either. I'm also tired from missing out on a lot of sleep over the past two weeks. I'm not giving up though. Here's a summary of my progress so far: Books read: 2 Currently reading: Emma by Jane Austen (day time reading), and Love at First Date by Susan Hatler (after sunset reading). The Book Rainbow Challenge
Ok so this isn't actually what today's challenge was, as I don't have enough colourful books, but we decided to put our own twist on it and join in the fun anyway with our own alternative version.
Obviously I won't be entering it into the contest, but it was fun to do anyway :)
So far I've read two books from my TBR list; Royal Games, and Imperfect Chemistry, (both awesome reads) and started reading Emma by Jane Austen. I've only read the 1st chapter which according to my kindle app means I'm at 3%. I have at least started it now though. Emma is going to help me knock off several of the big 7 BookTubeAThon challenges and also means I get to watch the film too.
As we were at the pool all day today I didn't have much time to dedicate to reading or BookTube in general, but I did manage to throw together a quick video to meet today's challenge.... by far the hardest challenge yet...
The challenge was to come up with a poem using only book titles, with a maximum of 10 books used.
This challenge was hard for a number of reasons:
1) My brain was fried from swimming under hot sun all day.
2) I don't own that many print books anymore as do a lot of my reading on my ipad now.
3) Have you ever tried to write a poem using just book titles before?!
Anyway I did it, and can tick off today's challenge as done. As this is my first year doing BookTubeAThon I'm aiming to complete all the challenges. So far, so good ;)

The Book Slip In Challenge
Today's challenge was to create a scene using book titles in the dialogue. Not an easy task, but a fun one.

Reading progress
I was up super late last night reading Imperfect Chemistry by Mary Frame... which was totally worth it btw. I finished the book, bringing my running total to 2 completed books so far this week.
About the book:
Lucy London puts the word genius to shame. Having obtained her PhD in microbiology by the age of twenty, she's amassed a wealth of knowledge, but one subject still eludes her-people. I'm giving this one a 5 star rating. I loved the characters, especially Lucy with all her quirky ways. If you like YA, romance, easy reads, you'll like this.
