This weeks "Quick Tip" is to add special content to pull traffic to your website. Everyone loves a good freebie. Use that as a way to entice new readers to your website. Offer free downloads, or an excerpt, etc... to get them to your site. Hopefully they'll like your freebie and stick around to check out the other content you have on site.

This November I'm taking part in several challenges. One of these challenges is the Picture Book Idea Month challenge organised by +Tara Lazar.
I've taken part in, and won, at this challenge for several years now, and always have loads of fun. It's great having an idea swipe file to pick from throughout the year too.
As I'm being super organised this year, I decided to make an idea sheet to use during PiBoIdMo to register my ideas. It makes is easier to keep track of the number of ideas to make sure I'm on schedule with my idea a day.
I've kept the file pretty basic with sections for title, main character(s), and an idea summary for each day. I have a notebook where I'll be doing doodles and making detailed notes as and when needed, but I wanted a place to keep all the rough ideas organised.

This week I've been working on character sheets for the main characters in my NaNoWriMo novel in preparation for the November challenge.
I'm hoping that having a file on hand with all their basic details will help make writing the novel easier.
Creating character sheets is definitely a good way to get to know your characters a bit. I didn't want to overload them though. I'd found numerous examples on the internet but they all seemed like too much. Maybe it's just me but I like my characters to surprise me along the way too. It makes writing the story more fun, and helps give it that natural flow.
I decided the best thing to do was to make my own character sheets with just enough information. All the basic, important stuff, without going over board. The file is in fact only 2 pages long.
As you guys are fab enough to follow me here, I've decided to share my character sheet with you... for FREE so you can use it too.
