Another busy week has come and gone. Here's a quick recap of what I've been up to.
My kids had 2 days off school again this week due to the school being closed for the elections (it was one of the voting venues). Seriously, they spend far more time at home than at school lately. At least their teachers decided not to take part in the school strike that was planned for Thursday.
Talking of Thursday, I had my hospital appointment. All went really well, and the doctor was a super nice. He did say my cysts were "cute" though, which is not the word I would pick for them. Must be a Doctor thing. Anyway, I now have the date for my operation to remove my semisolid cyst (11th April). The rest we just keep an eye on and hopefully they will go away by themselves in time.
I've also been getting organised for our upcoming holiday. So much to do, and not that long left to do it all in. I'm sure I'll get there though. As our trip is going to involve flights, and a very long car ride, I'm looking to add some books to my kindle app for the kids to read. Any suggestions? My 10 year is currently working his way through the Beast Quest series, but need some nice picture story books for my 6 year old. He loved Spoon and anything and everything by Julia Donaldson.
Moving on, here's where I've been hosted this week:
This week has been another busy one (I'm starting to wonder about whether I'll ever have a week that's not a busy one). Between snow days (yes it actually snowed in Rome!), the kids being ill, and school strikes/closures, my kids seem to be spending more time at home than at school recently. It was fun building snowmen, and having snowball fights though. The kids loved it, and better yet it only lasted a couple of days. A beautiful winter wonderland that disappeared as quickly as it came. This is good news because I have another busy week ahead of me and everything will be much easier to do without having to fight the snow.
Exciting things first... today is my author event at Infinite Parentesi Bookstore! I'm a big mess of excitement and nervous, but I'm sure it'll be loads of fun and promise to report back with all the behind the scenes details soon.
Next I should probably update you all on my health situation as I've received a few messages asking how things are going. I had anotherbreast ultrasound this week and discovered a have quite a few cysts in addition to the solid one on the surface. Most are micro cysts though and so will probably go away by themselves in time. I'll be taking the scans to the hospital with me for my appointment next week so the doctors will let me know more then.
So what have you been up to this week? Have you had much snow in your part of the world?
Despite my kids getting ill continuously with every virus doing the rounds, this week has actually been really productive, both from a work and personal point of view. I still can't believe how much I managed to get done. I've even managed to set up some guest features for March on various sites. If you want to feature me on your site please get in touch. I'm always open to doing interviews, guest posts, book showcases, and even LIVE social media chats. I also got contacted by some authors and publishers this week about reviewing their books. One package already arrived in the post from MX Publishing (super fast delivery!), and contained not one, but three books! I'll be sharing the unboxing video for that soon.
I review various genres, but I would love to review some more children's books, so if you'd like to send me a review copy of your book please get in touch. I'm happy to work with both publishers and self published authors.
Reading progress
We finally made some progress with the kidlit version of the A to Z Reading Challenge this week, and made a nice dent in my TBR backlist on Net Galley. I'll be posting the full reviews for these separately soon but here's a some quick summary reviews:
Want to host me on your blog? Drop me an email to organise. I'm also happy to do LIVE social media chats on Twitter/Facebook.
