Book Review: Invisible by Lorena McCourtney

Another book review for you. This time it's for Invisible by Lorena McCourtney. Another great read.

I loved the main character Mrs M (Ivy Malone). Having the main character be a little old lady was quite a change from the usual books I read, but worked perfectly.

If you want to check out the book for yourself you can grab a copy here: http://amzn.to/1p3uGRH (yes I use affiliate links for Amazon. Poor creative person needs to eat ;))

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?

Book Review: License to Date by Susan Hatler

My thoughts about License to Date by Susan Hatler

I have yet another cold and sore throat. I know, I know... really looking forward to my hospital appointment now, and hopefully finding out why my immune system has given up on me. Not long now.

On the up side, all this "being ill and having to rest time" has given me the perfect excuse to catch up on my TBR (To Be Read) list. I'm making good progress... although I've discovered some great book series over the pass couple of weeks and so technically my TBR list has actually grown more despite all the reading I've been doing.

One of the books I read is License to Date by Susan Hatler. I read the whole book in one sitting, and loved it.

About License to Date by Susan Hatler:

After discovering her fiancé cheated on her, Kaitlin is focused on two things: remodeling her new home and avoiding men at all costs. But her friends insist she get back in the driver’s seat and date again. They strike a hard bargain and agree to paint her house if she goes on five dates.

Anxious to get the paint job started, Kaitlin schedules five dates in five days, but her plan falls to pieces when a sexy bartender at her venue-of-choice makes her swoon. Even though he observes each of the dates from afar, she can’t help but want him to come a little closer.

The last person she should fall for is a mysterious bartender with a sinful smile, but Paul makes her want to take risks again. Will the charming man with electric blue eyes break her heart or will he prove to her that a license to date is what makes life worth the drive?

Book Review: Killer Cupcakes by Leighann Dobbs

My thoughts about Killer Cupcakes by Leighann Dobbs

As I've been told to take it easy, I've been working my way through my TBR (To Be Read) list using the kindle app on my ipad. I actually got a copy of Killer Cupcakes back in 2014 but only just got round to reading it. Why did I wait so long?! I loved it!

Book Review: Killer Cupcakes by Leighann Dobbs

About the book:

Things are going great for Lexy Baker. She's finally opened her dream bakery, gotten rid of her cheating boyfriend and settled into her grandmothers house with her perky dog Sprinkles at her side.

But her blissful life doesn't last long. When her ex boyfriend is found poisoned with cupcakes from her bakery, Lexy finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation headed up by her hunky neighbor detective Jack Perillo.

With the help of a gang of iPad toting, would-be detective grandmothers, Lexy decides to take it upon herself to find the real murderer in order to clear her name and get her bakery back in business.

As things heat up on the murder trail, in the kitchen and between Lexy and the hunky detective, it's a race against time to put the real murderer behind bars and get back to baking.

Will Lexy get her man?

>> Includes the recipe for Lexy's famous cupcake tops!

(This is book 1 in the Lexy Baker Culinary Cozy Mystery Series with Recipes, but you don't have to read them in order if you don't want too!)

This is definitely a 5 star review from me. I've also now grabbed copies of the 2nd and 3rd books in the Lexy Baker series. I may check out all 11 books in the series.

Feels good to finally be getting back into the swing of things. If I keep this up, I might just manage to be healthy again this year ;)

Anyway...

Welcome back to another Library Reads update!

In other news, my eldest is doing his first reading at our local library this morning. He decided that he wanted to read in English (we live in Italy), and picked Hop on Pop by Dr Suess. I'll post more about that and how things went soon.

How often do you go to the library? What books have you been checking out recently? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Before I jump into today's post I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being so patient with me whilst I get my health back on track, and for all the lovely messages of encouragement and well wishes you've sent me over the past few months. I really appreciate your support.
