From the bestelling author of Mince Pies and Mistletoe at the Christmas Fair and The Cherry Tree Cafe comes a glorious summer treat of glamping, vintage tearooms and love ...
When Lottie Foster’s grandmother’s best friend Gwen dies, she leaves Lottie her lovely home, Cuckoo Cottage.
Lottie loves the cottage but Matt, a charming local builder, points out that beneath its charm it is falling apart. Luckily he is always on hand to help with the problems that somehow seem to keep cropping up. But is he just a bit too good to be true? Certainly Will, Lottie’s closest neighbour, seems to think so.
But before she can finally enjoy living with her legacy she must uncover who she can trust, and who to avoid. And with two men vying for her attention, will she also find love?
I'm not going to lie to you. I've not been writing that much lately. The summer break meant that I was hardly ever on my computer. Between the kids being off school, holidays, etc... writing just didn't happen. This means that I dropped behind schedule. In fact, those of you following the KOSMOS series will have noticed a lack of Episode 8. I'm really sorry that the publishing schedule had to be changed. Shadow was due for release on 1st September but sadly that didn't happen. The good news is it is on it's way. I'm close to finishing it now and so it should be ready for release in October.
Episode 8, Shadow, is set in Africa back when the Maasai migrated across the territory. Researching Massai society and traditions has been really interesting, and I hope you'll enjoy learning a bit about them whilst reading this episode.
Learning about different cultures, and different time periods has been one of the parts I've most enjoyed about working on this series. Obviously I can't include all my research in each episode but I hope to scatter enough elements into the story so that you, the reader, can imagine what it might have been like.
In Shadow Matt has to deal with the Massai, and other members of the Nilotic group they were part of. Not an easy task, especially when the shadow is fast on his trail. As if that wasn't enough, something happens to the pendant that could mean he may never make it back home.
Are you reading the KOSMOS series? Which episode are you up to? Do you have a favourite episode so far?
You may have noticed a slight change around here over the past few days...
I decided to give my branding a full makeover. I wanted something that was simple, but also a bit special, and of course, professional looking. Given that I'm a wearer of any hats it also needed to be generic. I love the result and hope you do too.
There's still a few small bits and pieces to update, and I'll be getting to those over the next few weeks. For the most part though, I'm ready.
I've also now updated all my social media sites with the new branding too so that I'm recognizable across the board.
So why the change?
Well, this is something I've been wanting to do for a while but just didn't have the time until now. The old branding style was simple and did the job, but I felt it was lacking personality. It was time to freshen up. With the kids going back to school again this month I finally have some time to work on my to do list of projects.
Another reason for the change happening now is that I've been working on putting together my portfolio of premade book cover designs, and will be doing a big launch for the service in October. It seemed like a good idea to get all the new branding in place beforehand ;)
Some of you that have been around here for a while may be asking "but didn't you start doing book covers a while ago?" You are correct. I started this new venture earlier this year but have only been in beta phase until now. The past few months have been about discovering how I wanted to do things, researching pricing, sales channels to try, etc... I now have a clear idea of how I want to do things so that I can offer you the best service and products.
For those of you interested in knowing more about branding, brand mood boards, etc... I'll be doing some blog posts soon on the topic as I think it's something fellow creatives might find useful. In the meantime if you have any specific questions please feel free to post them below in the comments section.
It's my birthday and to celebrate I'm giving you some gifts! I've set up special offers on a lot of my books for this weekend.
