February 2023 Book Blogger Posts Round Up

Book Blogger Posts Round Up

A collection of blog posts by book bloggers

This post may contain affiliate links. Meaning, I get a commission if you purchase through my links, at no cost to you. Read the full disclosure here.

The Book Blogger Round Up feature is back!

I'm loving the wide variety of content that February brought with it. The book blogging community kept things interesting and put out some excellent posts.

Why I do these round up posts

Finding the time to scan through various social media feeds to find suitable content can take up valuable time and so I figured I'd make it easier and put together a collection here on the blog.

Each month I'll include a wide variety of content so there's something for everyone. You'll find book reviews, interviews, discussion pieces and more...

So if you're looking for new bookish content to read and/or want to discover some new book bloggers to follow, look no further!

I introduced this new feature here on the blog in May 2021 to showcase blog posts by other book bloggers. I'll be linking up a variety of blog posts so hopefully there will be something to suit all tastes.

The following posts were submitted for inclusion in this round up via my Twitter, where I asked for posts. I'll be continuing to do this every month.

Want to be included in future round ups? Follow my Twitter profile and keep an eye out for the submission tweet.

February 2023 Book Blogger Round Up

@birdjayreads reviewed Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. "Strange the Dreamer is another book that was highly highly recommended to me by a friend, and its another winner of a suggestion! I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this book. It reminded me so much of the dreamy, atmospheric quality of Erin Morgenstern’s work — both The Night Circus and The Starless Sea. This one is so much more fantasy than those books, though, in the best way! I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this one — I went in mostly blind, and honestly, I can recommend doing that. You’ll dive deep into this awesome world that Taylor has set up, without any preconceived notions on what should happen there." Read the full review here.

@alitescape did a post about negative book reviews. "You help past readers validate their own opinions about a book if they also felt similarly. You also help future readers who may be unsure about whether to read a particular book. For an undecided reader, seeing both positive and negative reviews helps them assemble a broader range of what to expect that an official book synopsis might not impart." Read the full article here (it's awesome btw with so many good points).

@LadyInReadvt back participated in the really cool six degrees of separation bookish meme. This was a really fun post (made me want to give it a try) and she did a great job of linking all the books. Check out the full article here.

@WordsofMystery did a round up post about what she read in January. Find out which books she read here.

@cjfriess reviewed A Pinch of Love by Barry Timms & Tisha Lee. "There is so much we love about this book. We love the way that love and baking are intertwined to bring a diverse community of characters together and the way we are left with a warm glow as everybody enjoys caring and company while raising money", and interviewed the author about the book, working with the illustrator, and future projects. Check out the full post here.

@Behindthepages1 reviewed That Good Mischief by Lyra Wolf. "That Good Mischief is a fast-paced and nail-biting ride as Loki races to save Sigyn. Surtur won’t go down without a fight and Loki must also contend with the spiteful anger of the Gods standing in his way. I enjoyed every minute of Loki’s sarcastic humor and determination to save Sigyn. I cannot wait for the next book!" Read the full review here.

@ReadingLadiesBC did a recap post with a “Best Of” list featuring her best reads of the year from 2015-2022. Read the full post here.

@janelesley shared a review via her Twitter profile for Dead of Night by Simon Scarrow. "#DeadOfNight is a terrific thriller from a writer who really knows how to draw a reader in and who is clever enough to leave us all as blindsided and fearful at times as the characters, luring us into the maze of this complex, absorbing story." Read the Twitter thread here.

@DebsBookReviews shared a tour stop for Cut and Shut by Jonathan Peace on her Instagram profile. "JP you are a brilliant writer & you have surpassed yourself with this addition to the series. Taut, evocative writing took me back to those times with ease & I can’t wait for the next one." Read the post here.

The book synopsis for Five Will Die by L.A. Detwiler

Five Will Die by L.A. Detwiler book cover
By Friday, one will kill and one will die in the Evermore Publishing offices. But this is just the start of a horrifying chain of murders because the killer has much bigger plans.

From the USA Today bestseller comes a shocking thriller that will keep you guessing up until the very last page.

When a new girl, Becky Rusett, joins the Evermore Publishing team, she’ll start to realize no office setting is as safe as it appears. The secrets, lies, and underhanded dealings of the publishing house are unsettling enough–but now some sinister events are putting the entire office in real danger.

Decades before Evermore Publishing existed, a group of five meanspirited children terrorized a young child in a small town. The Fab 5, as they were called, set off the chain of events that would lead to the horrific events at Evermore. But what’s their connection to the New York City bookworms…and can anyone solve the mystery before there’s a brutal murder?

You never really know if there’s a killer in the cubicle beside you. This tense mystery is only the first of five books tracing the footsteps of a killer.

Book synopsis for Haven by Ceril N Domace

Book cover Haven by Ceril N Domace

Most people think the fae are gone. Most people are wrong.

Owen Williams wakes after a horrific car accident to find his wife is dead—and somehow turned into a gryphon—and his kids gone after a home invasion turned horribly wrong. Shattered and reeling, he vows to do whatever it takes to find them.

When a fae scout appears and promises to reunite him with his kids, he doesn’t hesitate before joining her. But she warns him that if he wants to protect his family, he must follow the fae to their city, the hidden haven of Tearmann.

With enemies on the horizon, Owen needs to set aside his fears and take up arms to defend their new home alongside the people he’s always been taught were monsters—or he’ll lose everyone he’s trying to protect.

Book synopsis for Mercury's Shadow by PJ Garcin

Mercury's Shadow by PJ Garcin book cover
One man's lust for power threatens the future of humanity—can a young girl from the outer system stop it all?

Imogen “Chim” Esper is thrust into the center of an interplanetary conflict when her family is torn apart by the cruel and indifferent Kardashev Corporation. Forced to run, along with her robotic best friend, Chim struggles to find her place in a society that is poised for revolutionary transformation.

The Kardashev Corporation dominates all commerce and politics in the solar system. Its megalomaniac CEO, Alton Neal, is hell-bent on transforming society by capturing the full energy output of the sun through the creation of a Dyson Swarm.

Citizens of Earth and the stations throughout the system must band together to protect access to the lifeblood of the system or risk becoming permanently enslaved to the Kardashev Corporation.

Mercury’s Shadow is a thrilling adventure that blends real science, big ideas, grand adventure and high stakes to introduce a new heroine and a deep universe that will leave readers asking for more.
