I know, I'm super late sharing this Library Reads update. I completely forgot [slaps wrists]. Worst still is the fact that this may be the last Library Reads update for a while as the library will be closing for part of the summer. We will resume our updates in September though so you won't have to wait too long ;)
In the meantime we will still be reading and reporting back. I have loads of books on my ipad kindle app for the kids, and so we'll be working through those for a new video series called the Kids Summer Reading series. It will be a chance to get them experimenting with ebooks. I'm really interested to see what they think about reading in e-format as opposed to print. Should be fun.
Anyway, back to Library Reads....

Our last trip to the library was a special one, because it was the end of term party, and the kids got awarded certificates for being active library members. My youngest got his for taking part in the group activities and listening to the stories, and my eldest got his for reading aloud to groups of other children.
The library staff put on a fab party for us all with face painting, dancing, and lots of fun and games. Just another reason why we love our library so much :)
And now to talk about this week's Library Reads...
We decided to check out another book in the It's a Wild Life, Buddy! series. We LOVE this series.

This week I was happy to find that the kids picked out two books which were very different from the usual picture books we find (Chester, and If...). It would be great to see more books like these on the shelves. Great conversation starters.

Welcome back to another Library Reads!
My posting schedule for our library updates has been a bit off recently with all the end of term activities going on (sorry about that), but also because the library is now no longer open every Saturday and so we had to change the day of the week we visit. This means I've had to rework our reading schedule, but also my schedule for filming and posting. With the summer months upon us finding our routine won't be easy either, but we will continue to go to the library every week and so Library Reads will continue for June and July.

Welcome back to another Library Reads. Apologies for the late posting. With the end of the school year upon us life has been pretty hectic of late.

We finally made it back to the library, and I finally got round to filming Library Reads... and then ended up posting late because I forgot to upload it. I'm rubbish I know, but better late than never ;)
The good thing about having not gone to the library for several weeks is that they had new books in stock (they also got some new DVDs and so I introduced the kids to Star Wars this week too ;)).
As most of the funds go towards buying new books in Italian (we live in Italy and so it makes sense), they don't often add more English titles to their shelves. Seeing some new titles on the shelves in our favourite section was therefore a particularly nice surprise.

Every week I take my kids to the library to check out some new books. As we live in Italy most of the library is for books in Italian but they do have a good international section with lots of English language books too, so we always get a selection of both Italian and English books to take home.
