Discussing Nothin’ Goes Right the Night Before Christmas by John and Dan Bell

My Review Summary:

Key Takeaways from the video:

I'm reviewing Nothin’ Goes Right the Night Before Christmas, a comic retelling of the classic story based on Rodney Dangerfield’s comedy, written by Dan and John Bell.
The book is aimed at ages baby to 12, though some humour—like smelly or “dog poo” jokes—might appeal more to certain age groups than others.
I appreciated that it raises an important point for discussion with children: not everyone experiences a perfect Christmas with lots of presents, and the book gently introduces this idea.
Overall, I gave it three stars. It’s an original, humorous take on a classic story with some funny moments, though not all jokes will land with everyone.
I found it enjoyable and thought it could spark meaningful conversations with kids about gratitude and realistic expectations over the holiday season.
