Virtual Book Tours: Benefits of Hosting Others
As you know I love hosting others on my sites and supporting other writers. I do Featured Friday on this blog, Wall Chat Wednesday on Facebook, a whole bunch of stuff through Writers and Authors and Promo Day, and occasionally I also do Twitter chats and Google+ hangouts too.
I think it's important to support my writing colleagues but I'm not doing it all JUST to be nice to them. There's something in it for me too. In this video I explain some of the benefits of hosting others.
Whether you're a writer yourself or not, hosting others can be a great way of increasing traffic to your site, offers your readers something a bit different, increases engagement and gets you some back links and other SEO elements that will help your site show up better in search engine results. It's also good for karma and leaves you with that feel good sense inside.
If you host others on your site please leave your link below in the comments section.

On 28th and 29th October I'm doing a Q&A session on Goodreads. Drop by and ask me anything.
In other news, I've finally kicked this flu. YAY! Thanks to all of you that sent me get well soon messages. I was touched by all your kind words and it really did make me feel better. You are all awesome!
Sorry for my lack of posting but flu season has started early this year in our house (it normally sets in during November) and I've been trying to rest up as much as possible so I can kick this asap (I'm not good at being ill and find it hard to do nothing so this week is a challenge). In fact, I haven't stopped completely. The show, or in this case, the tour, must go on!
Yesterday I was hosted by +Claudia Moss for a wall chat on her Facebook page where we chatted about all sorts of things. If you missed the live event you can check out the transcript here
