Today I wanted to do the same thing but for children's books. I'm a mum of two boys, and an author and illustrator of children's picture story books, so this is something I'm passionate about. You can find my children's books on my Amazon author page ;) There are so many awesome books out there for kids. Kidlit is also an extra special genre as it helps create future readers and a love of literature.
I've reviewed numerous children's books here on the blog. Some of my favourites include; Spoon, Once Upon An Ordinary School Day, and pretty much anything and everything by Julia Donaldson. I wanted to find some new good books for children though and so asked my book blogging buddies to share a children's book they gave a 5 star review to.
I know, I'm super late sharing this Library Reads update. I completely forgot [slaps wrists]. Worst still is the fact that this may be the last Library Reads update for a while as the library will be closing for part of the summer. We will resume our updates in September though so you won't have to wait too long ;)
In the meantime we will still be reading and reporting back. I have loads of books on my ipad kindle app for the kids, and so we'll be working through those for a new video series called the Kids Summer Reading series. It will be a chance to get them experimenting with ebooks. I'm really interested to see what they think about reading in e-format as opposed to print. Should be fun.
Anyway, back to Library Reads....

Welcome back to another Library Reads!
Our last trip to the library was a special one, because it was the end of term party, and the kids got awarded certificates for being active library members. My youngest got his for taking part in the group activities and listening to the stories, and my eldest got his for reading aloud to groups of other children.
The library staff put on a fab party for us all with face painting, dancing, and lots of fun and games. Just another reason why we love our library so much :)
And now to talk about this week's Library Reads...
We decided to check out another book in the It's a Wild Life, Buddy! series. We LOVE this series.

We finally made it back to the library, and I finally got round to filming Library Reads... and then ended up posting late because I forgot to upload it. I'm rubbish I know, but better late than never ;)
The good thing about having not gone to the library for several weeks is that they had new books in stock (they also got some new DVDs and so I introduced the kids to Star Wars this week too ;)).
As most of the funds go towards buying new books in Italian (we live in Italy and so it makes sense), they don't often add more English titles to their shelves. Seeing some new titles on the shelves in our favourite section was therefore a particularly nice surprise.
