November 2022 Book Blogger Round Up

Book Blogger Posts Round Up

A collection of blog posts by book bloggers

This post may contain affiliate links. Meaning, I get a commission if you purchase through my links, at no cost to you. Read the full disclosure here.

Looking for new bookish content to read? Want to discover some new book bloggers to follow?  Look no further!

I introduced this new feature here on the blog in May 2021 to showcase blog posts by other book bloggers. I'll be linking up a variety of blog posts so hopefully there will be something to suit all tastes.

The following posts were submitted for inclusion in this round up via my Twitter, where I asked for posts. I'll be continuing to do this every month.

Why?

Because I like reading blog posts by other book bloggers and thought you might too. Finding the time to scan through various social media feeds to find suitable content can take up valuable time though and so I figured I'd make it easier and put together a collection here on the blog.

My plan is to include a wide variety of content so there's something for everyone. You'll find book reviews, interviews, discussion pieces and more...

Want to be included in future round ups? Follow my Twitter profile and keep an eye out for the submission tweet.

November 2022 Book Blogger Round Up

In her post Film of the book: ‘The Giver’ (2014) @nsfordwriter gives a great summary of the differences between the book and the film. "In the book, descriptions of colour are carefully avoided, as colour vision has been edited out of the genes. Except for Jonas, who occasionally sees flashes of colour. This is strikingly reflected in the film, which begins in monochrome, developing a muted palette as Jonas starts his training and finally becoming vibrant." Read the full post here.

@ReadingLadiesBC participated in Nonfiction November and gave a full recap of all the non fiction books she read this year and answered some questions about the books. Read the full post here.

@sarahbutland_co reviewed From Showing Off to Showing Up: An Impostor’s Journey from Perfect to Present by Nancy Regan. "From Showing Off to Showing Up: An Impostor’s Journey from Perfect to Present by Nancy Regan is not just a book – it’s an experience. And oh what an experience it was for me." Read the full review here.

@espressoedition shared 12 Festive Christmas Books to Read This Holiday Season. Read the post here.

@WordsofMystery managed to knock quite a few books off her TBR pile in October and gave a recap of all the books she read. Read the post here.

@alitescape shared a review of Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan. "Sue Lynn Tan’s debut novel, DAUGHTER OF THE MOON GODDESS, was a delightful read full of adventure and sacrifice. But this sequel shines even brighter than its predecessor. Without a doubt the overarching theme of HEART OF THE SUN WARRIOR is love accompanied by sacrifice and hope. And with each of these things comes growth, which which is evident in the characters as well as the author." Read the full review here.

Book synopsis for Slaughtered Gods by Thilde Kold Holdt

Slaughtered Gods by Thilde Kold Holdt book cover
Worlds collide – and are shattered – in the epic conclusion of the
Northern Wrath saga.

The Concluding Part of the Epic Viking Fantasy Trilogy

ALL SHALL PERISH

The great wolf howls for Ragnarok to begin. The half-giant Einer leads an army of the dead to clash with the golden shields of Asgard. The nornir tie and retie their threads, as Loki’s and Odin’s schemes unfold… and unravel. For not even cunning gods and giants see every part of the web.

As the survivors of the burned village of Ash-hill converge on the final battle on Ida’s Plain, only two are truly free to choose their paths and prevent the annihilation of the nine worlds: a storyteller who holds all destinies in his hands, and a shieldmaiden with no destiny at all.

The book synopsis for Between the Crosses by Matthew Frank

Book cover Between the Crosses by Matthew Frank
Between the Crosses is another sophisticated and brilliantly crafted crime novel, featuring Afghan army veteran and Detective Constable Joseph Stark.

First book If I Should Die was the WINNER of the 2014-2015 Waverton Good Read Award. Previous winners include Mark Haddon, Marina Lewycka, Tom Rob Smith and Rachel Joyce.

***

No longer a trainee but a freshly-minted Detective Constable, Joseph Stark finds himself working a double homicide. Thomas and Mary Chase were shot dead in their London home, and first impressions are that this is a burglary-gone-bad.

But Stark is unconvinced. Burglary-murders are usually a tragic case of unfortunate timing, but this feels like something else entirely. And when evidence arises to link this murder to a twenty year old cold case the hunt is well and truly on.
