Book Blogger Posts October Round Up

Book Blogger Posts Round Up

A collection of blog posts by book bloggers

This post may contain affiliate links. Meaning, I get a commission if you purchase through my links, at no cost to you. Read the full disclosure here.

Looking for new bookish content to read? Want to discover some new book bloggers to follow?  Look no further!

I introduced this new feature here on the blog in May to showcase blog posts by other book bloggers. I'll be linking up a variety of blog posts so hopefully there will be something to suit all tastes.

The following posts were submitted for inclusion in this round up via my Twitter, where I asked for posts. I'll be continuing to do this every month.

Why?

Because I like reading blog posts by other book bloggers and thought you might too. Finding the time to scan through various social media feeds to find suitable content can take up valuable time though and so I figured I'd make it easier and put together a collection here on the blog.

My plan is to include a wide variety of content so there's something for everyone. You'll find book reviews, interviews, discussion pieces and more...

Want to be included in future round ups? Follow my Twitter profile and keep an eye out for the submission tweet.

October 2021 Book Blogger Round Up

@BiblioNerdRflxn shared Book Review – More Happy Than Not, Deluxe Edition by Adam Silvera. "The impact of this book on me is hard to put into words, but I can’t think of another book that made me feel so much in such a short period of time. It was a book I will never be able to forget, and I foresee reading it again multiple times in the future. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars."  Get the book here.

Book Review: Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian by @Honolulubelle "Vera Kurian may well be an evil genius as well as a master storyteller and has titled her book with 100% accuracy, as I never would have foreseen this ending on the horizon." Get the book here

@WordsofMystery talked about what she read in September with First Love, Take Two being her favourite read of the month.

@ReadingLadiesBC discussed 10 Books That Live Up To Their Hype in her post for Top Ten Tuesday. Her list includes a wide variety of genres.

Buried By Elle Croft was reviewed by @TtlyAdd2Reading. "Buried is a fully developed story that took the reader on a twisted and spellbinding journey. Perfect for fans of dark, gritty and suspense thrillers featuring a strong female lead." Get the book here.

@storywhispers featured the guest post Tips on Writing about Climate Change by Lauren James as part of the blog tour for her new book Green Rising which was released on 2nd September 2021.

@BooksCozy also did a September Wrap Up.

@ecoish_laura shared her thoughts on The Moon Almanac by Judith Hurrell. "One thing I especially liked about The Moon Almanac is that, unlike other books of this nature, it is not tied to just one year. There are a few references to 2021/2022 but on the whole no other dating occurs – meaning that it could become a treasured keepsake, as I’m sure it will in my family." Get the book here.

@herbookish joined in the Blog Tour organised by @The_WriteReads with a Spotlight of the book The Book Of Uriel by Elyse Hoffman. "The Book of Uriel is a heartbreaking blend of historical fiction and Jewish folklore that will enthrall fans of The Book Thief and The World That We Knew." Get the book here.

@TheQuickandthe4 shared her September 2021 Wrap-Up and October TBR. "All my books this month were 3 or 4 stars – my favourite was ‘The Royal Art of Poison’ by Eleanor Herman which was an unexpected treat of an audiobook."

@RWithmeg shared her review of the book Walking on Sunshine by Giovanna Fletcher. "I gave this book a five stars, I loved it just as much as all the others! It is very spiritual & anyone who has ever felt like they needed to find themselves, this is definitely for you!". Get the book here.

@bookswithbunny showed her TBR for October. "I have tons of spooky reads that I want to pick up this month."

Discussing Pretty Little Girls by Jenifer Ruff

Quotes from Pretty Little Girls by Jenifer Ruff

Just because someone seemed kind, didn’t mean they could be trusted.

“Kids don’t run away from homes because they’re poor, they run away because they need to escape something. Rich kids can need to escape, too.

Sofia turned the page in her book, trying to stay focused on the fictional lives it contained inside. In the windowless basement, there was rarely any indication that the outside world existed. No mingling of voices, no whoosh of passing trucks or honking of cars, just the occasional hum and rattle of the exposed pipes. Until now.

After all that had happened to her, all she’d just recently experienced—kidnapping, rape, beatings, having her virginity stolen—Sofia didn’t know for sure that Emma had been a virgin, but it seemed likely —after all that, the girl appeared most shocked about having to relieve herself in a bucket.

Only when she was immersed in a book was she able to completely forget about her circumstances.

“Can’t tell me or you’ll have to kill me?” “No. Nothing like that.” She laughed and curled her toes up under the covers. “I can tell you, but it’s not what I want to talk about. You and the dogs are like my happy place. I don’t want to mess it up talking about work.”

“You want the girl back. But you might not find her if someone with power is thwarting your efforts. So, you improvise until you figure out who to trust. Basically, until you know who you can trust, you trust no one.”

His forced jovial attitude had disappeared. Some things were harder to pretend through than others.

“I have to pee first, or I might wet myself. And no one here tonight has asked for that . . . yet.” She smirked to hide her hatred.

“Can’t trust rich people. They’re the best liars. They’re not worried because they always get away with it. That’s what makes them lie so good.”

Things aren’t always what they appear to be. And neither are people.
