July was extremely hot here in Rome but that actually turned into an advantage as I had the opportunity to be interviewed about how to survive during a heatwave for BBC World Service OS Radio Show. The hosts were lovely and it was really fun chatting with them. I did a blog post following the interview How To Survive A Heatwave: Tips for Coping in Hot Weather where I share more tips about surviving in the hot weather.

Blogging

July was another amazing month for blogging. I'm so happy to be able to share that I hit yet another new personal best for blog traffic to www.JoLinsdell.com with a whooping 60,931 page views for the month of July! Thank you for your continued support.

Goal for August is to get over 61K!

Number of blog posts in July: 20

The Clock Reading Challenge

Join in with the Clock Reading Challenge 2023 and create your own clock for 2023. If you need some help finding books for the challenge check out Books with Numbers 1-12 in the Title: Clock Reading Challenge.

Travel

We had had plans to visit a few different places in July but my husband had an accident and badly sprained his ankle. Crutches and travel don't make a good mix so we've had to push those plans back for a while.

The extreme heat we've had here in Rome has also meant that during the day it's not a good idea to be out and about too much.

I did take my sons to the beach at Ostia again a few times and we visited a local swimming pool several times too.

Fitness Challenges

I had big plans to start doing fitness challenges in July but the heat has just been too much. It's been hard to sleep and during the day it's been a real struggle to do anything let alone workout.

I did manage to continue with getting more steps during my day though and got in quite a lot of swimming when we went to the pool. My boys are both ex-competitive swimmers so we did a lot of swimming challenges while we were at the pool.

I've also been trying to do some arm exercises most days using some weights. Basic moves like; round the worlds, bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, and front and side raises.

    2. Thanks Carol. I'm really pleased with how the site is growing. I'm already at nearly 36K for August so I'm hopeful about hitting a new record again this month.
