NaNoWriMo is just days away. Amongst all the excitement for the kick off of the challenge there is also feelings of panic that come when you realised you've signed up to write 50K in just 30 days.
Keep calm!
It's not as bad as your over-active writers imagination is tricking you into to thinking it is. 50K in 30 days is in fact just 1,667 words a day. That already sounds more doable right?
As breaking it down into daily, bite-sized chunks can do wonders for relieving 50K freak outs, I've create a NaNoWriMo Word Count Tracker, and I'm giving it away to you, my loyal readers, free of charge. I'm good to you aren't I? ;)
It's a calendar format for the month of November, where you'll find your word count goal labeled on each day. There is also space for you to pencil in your daily word count so you can make sure you're on track for hitting your end of month goal of 50K.
Welcome back to another Ask Jo session! In this weeks video I talk about the NaNoWriMo challenge.
Are you doing a writing challenge this month? Have you been a NaNoWriMo winner in the past?
This week, for Ask Jo, I answer the question "What is the hardest part of NaNoWriMo?". Check out my answer below:
I'm not taking part in the NaNoWriMo challenge this year (I'm doing WNFIN and PiBoIdMo instead) but I did get my winner certificate last year.
Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year? What is the hardest part of hitting the 50K mark for you?

This year I'm doing, not one but, THREE writing challenges! I know. I must be crazy! Today I'm going to tell you a bit about one of them: NaNoWriMo AKA National Novel Writing Month.
NaNoWriMo is an action packed month of novel writing frenzy where the aim is to write a complete first draft of a 50K word novel in 30 days.
My project for this year is a thriller called "Vengeance". The idea for this novel came from a short story I wrote a few years ago called "Jealousy". I'm very excited, and a bit nervous, about writing this novel as its a completely new genre for me. I love pushing my comfort zones though and, however it turns out, it'll be a good learning curve.
It's going to be an interesting month!
