In other news, Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home got another 5 star review on Amazon

"5.0 out of 5 stars
Excellent resource for writers
By Jenny
Format:Kindle Edition
I just read Jo Linsdell's book, Virtual Book Tours, and it couldn't have come at a better time for me. I've read lots of books aimed at helping writers market their books but this one stands out from all the rest. It's easy to understand and the information is useful, not just filler for a book. It will be my guide as I plan and set up my virtual book tours and I'm sure, because of this book, they will be a huge success. I will be buying the hard copy once it is available. Thank you Jo!"

It's also still in the best seller lists on Amazon. Currently ranked #93 in "Authorship".

On Friday I was hosted by +Gina Alzate on her radio show http://www.blogtalkradio.com/holisticlifedesigns/2013/09/27/virtual-book-tours-by-gina-alzate-and-jo-linsdell to chat about virtual book tours. If you missed the live event, you can listen in now by clicking the play button below.

Today I'm going to be hosted by Gina Alzate for a radio interview at 10pm CET (that's 4pm EST) where we'll be discussing virtual book tours. I hope you'll tune in and invite you to post your questions about virtual book tours in the comment section on site.

Miss yesterdays Facebook Wall Chat? Check it out here:

Post by Where Writers And Authors Meet.

Today I'm hosted for a Wall Chat on the Where Writers and Authors Meet page on Facebook. We'll be chatting about virtual book tours and I'll be sharing loads of tips and advice. The chat will be taking place at www.Facebook.com/WhereWritersAndAuthorsMeet at 5pm CET/11am EST. Everyone is welcome to post their own questions for me directly to the wall during the chat.

Hope to see you there :)

Something very cool happened today. I was looking around on Facebook and whilst scrolling down the Amazon KDP page I found this banner. They made me a banner. Little me! Even better they posted it to their page on my birthday. I wonder if that was planned? Either way, this is pretty cool. The reach this is getting is huge. I'll be happy dancing over this one for a while :)

Today is also a busy day for tour stops. The fabulous +amy crowe has put together not one, but two, blog posts for me. One on her blog The Life and Times of AE Crowe and the other at her Hopeless Author blog. These posts are a bit different from the other features I've done because they're about me as opposed to my books. Check them out for some background information about yours truly.

I'm happy dancing today and with good reason. Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home became an Amazon best seller on day 1 of this tour and it's still a best seller today. Currently ranking #82 in "Authorship". I'm thrilled with the success this book is having. A huge thanks goes out to my wonderful hosts for helping me spread the word and to all those wonderful people that are buying the book. You've all made me one very happy writer chick! :)

Days 21 and 22:

I gave myself the weekend off. Some times it's a good idea to take a small break so you can recharge your batteries and, as this weekend proved, can help you focus and be better organised. You see the only tour-related task I did over the weekend was to take check of all the stops I've done so far and make notes about the content I need to send to upcoming hosts. During this little inventory I discovered that a stop had slipped past me. The stop in question was this interview I did for The Novel Corner about virtual book tours http://thenovelcorner.com/2013/09/09/a-modern-take-on-a-book-tour-linsdell-explains/. I'd had the host marked on my tour schedule for earlier in the month but we mixed up the blog url and so I had it down as a missed post when in fact it had been posted, just on a different blog. These things can happen. If a host fails to post try sending a follow up email. It might be they simply forgot. In this case, I visited the Facebook page of my host and checked through her recent posts. Most bloggers post the links to their articles on their timeline to promote them. This is where I found the correct link to my tour stop. I quickly apologized for not commenting on the post and sent her an email to so we were both clear on the mix up. So anyway, although things didn't go quite to plan it did prove as a good example of what to do when things don't go quite to plan ;)

Day 23:

Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home is available at the discounted price of $2.99 until the end of the month (normal price $4.99) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ELNAQ92

Today I'm hosted at http://kathymashburn.blogspot.it/2013/09/if-you-are-writer-illustrator-or_20.html?spref=fb for an interview. I totally wasn't expecting the fabulous introduction that my host +Kathy Mashburn put together. Definitely feeling the love :) I'm so glad she reached out to me and loved collaborating with her. She's a real pleasure to work with. An experience we hope to repeat again soon.

I also found out today that Cassandra Webb, who hosted me for a guest post on her Writer Pro Newsletter earlier this months shared the article on her blog yesterday so if you missed my "10 Tips for Virtual Book Tour Success" the first time round check it out at http://cassandrawebb.com/?p=89

Yesterday I did a live Twitter interview where I was asked some great questions about virtual book tours. The chat was a big success. I sold several copies of Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home towards the end of it and the book is now #82 in the best sellers list for "Authorship". For those of you that couldn't join in the live event, here's a summary of the highlights from the chat:

(use the scroll bar to see them all. All tweets are active and can be retweeted, replied to, and added to your favourites list by clicking the icons on the lower right of each tweet. You can also follow each of the profiles by clicking the follow button in the top right).

If you've read the book please take a minute to leave me a review at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ELNAQ92 and/or http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18340947-virtual-book-tours. Thanks for your support.

Why have one stop when you can have three!

Today my tour has taken me to http://www.maggiethom.com/ for an interview where we chat about my reading habits, favourite authors, and how I got started writing. You'll need to click on Blog- The Write To Read in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

Life happens and sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. On Saturday my two year old fell at the park and we ended up in hospital. A cut chin and trauma cranico. Pretty scary. All is back to normal now though and he's been given the all clear. Our stay in hospital did however mean that I'm a bit behind with my virtual book tour updates and all the other stuff I have going on. My tour carried on without me though so I can share with you all the posts and new updates now to bring us back up to speed.

Day 14:

'Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home'  got another awesome 5 star review posted to Amazon.

Day 15:

Skye Heyes posted a fantastic 5 star review to her blog http://thedragonpedestal.wordpress.com/2013/09/15/virtual-book-tours-effective-online-book-promotion-from-the-comfort-of-your-own-home-by-jo-linsdell-book-review/

Day 16:

My birthday! A bit different this year given the circumstances but we did get to go home from the hospital and that was the best present I could have asked for.

I was hosted for an interview at
http://workingwritersandbloggers.com/2013/09/16/interview-jo-linsdell

Day 17:

My guest post "10 Tips for Virtual Book Tour Success" was featured in the Writer pro newsletter

Day 18:

Today I was hosted for a guest post about how to come up with guest post ideas at http://wherewritersandauthorsmeet.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/how-to-come-up-with-guest-post-ideas/

Remember you can follow the tour on Facebook on the event page. You'll find all the tour stops and some extra tips and information. You can also find the tour schedule on my website.
A big thank you to my host today for stepping in last minute. I was scheduled to do a radio interview today but the host needed to reschedule so +Ruthie Madison offered to feature Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home for a book spotlight on her blog. Check out the great post she put together at http://madisonpost.wordpress.com/2013/09/13/book-spotlight-featuring-jo-linsdell/

I'm honoured to have supportive authors like Ruthie in my network. It's people like her, who step up to support other authors, that motivate me to do as much as I can to help fellow writers.
