Today is the last day of the tour... and what a tour it's been! I had high expectations for this tour and can happily say I met, nearly, all of them. The one about making millions was a little unrealistic though ;)

For the past two months I've been touring the web to promote the release of my book Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own. Here's a quick run down of the goals I set and met:

1) Best seller status- The book is an international best seller and so I totally kicked that one :)
2) Become a best seller within first week of release- This was to set a new personal best for myself. The book became a best seller on day 1 of it's launch!
3) Have at least 10 reviews posted to Amazon- The reviews have been rolling in and all of them have been 5 stars! Although I got 9 reviews on Amazon.com, I did get others posted to the other Amazon sites and Goodreads, as well as some blogs. I can tick that one off my list too.
4) Get within the top 4 spots on relevant Goodreads lists- Reached top 4 in several lists (even made #2 on one of them) and so mission accomplished here too.

It's fair to say, this was a successful tour :)

And the last hosts and posts are....

In other news, I've finally kicked this flu. YAY! Thanks to all of you that sent me get well soon messages. I was touched by all your kind words and it really did make me feel better. You are all awesome!
My flu has meant a few changes to the scheduled tour stops for the past few days (live interviews will be rescheduled for a later date). I do however have some good news to share.

Still an international best seller! Currently ranking #62 on Amazon Canada and #92 on Amazon US.

Thank you again for all your support. If you've read the book please drop by Amazon and/or Goodreads and post a quick review. I love to read your feedback and these little things really do make a big difference.
Sorry for my lack of posting but flu season has started early this year in our house (it normally sets in during November) and I've been trying to rest up as much as possible so I can kick this asap (I'm not good at being ill and find it hard to do nothing so this week is a challenge). In fact, I haven't stopped completely. The show, or in this case, the tour, must go on!

Yesterday I was hosted by +Claudia Moss for a wall chat on her Facebook page where we chatted about all sorts of things. If you missed the live event you can check out the transcript here

Today I'm hosted by +linda randall on her The Idea Girl Says blog where she shares a video in which I talk about the benefits of hosting others on your social media profiles.

The Kindle version continues to be an international best seller.

Thank you all for your support. If you've read the book please drop by and leave a review for me at amazon.com/dp/B00ELNAQ92.

Thanks to a school strike my kids have been keeping me busy and so I fell a bit behind with posting the tour updates. I do however have LOADS of stuff to share with you today as lots of things have been happening whilst I was away.

I was hosted for an interview by my friend and fellow author +Tannia Ortiz-Lopes on her Facebook page. Check it here http://bit.ly/VBTInterview

Today I'm hosted at http://lynnettesbookworld.blogspot.it/2013/10/jo-linsdell-reads-to-us-from-her.html. My guest post today is not directly about Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home. The main part of the post is a video where I read from my children's picture story book Fairy May. Off topic? Not exactly.

You'll notice that the post mentions Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home in my bio and so it's more of a cross promotion. The piece came about because my host tends to post about fiction on this blog and loves to use video content. As I'm a multi genre author we decided this was a good way to kill more birds with the one stone. As Fairy May was also released this year it was nice to get a bit more exposure for that book too.

You'll have noticed from following this tour that stops don't need to always have their main focus on the book your touring (obviously this will depend on the goals you've set for your tour). Some stops can be like this one and allow cross promotion for various titles or be author spotlights where the focus is about you and building your author brand. In the end they all promote your book. Some just do it in a slightly less direct way

I was happy to discover today that Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home has been added to the "Indie Authors We Love" list at http://fabulositygalore.blogspot.it/p/indie-authors-we-love.html (page 9).
Today I'm hosted by Gloria Oren on her blog http://gloriascorner.com/guest-post-by-jo-linsdell-on-finding-your-stops-for-visits-on-a-virtual-book-tour/ for a guest post where I share some tips on finding niche bloggers for your virtual book tour.

Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home continues to rock the best seller charts on Amazon. It's currently ranked #36 on Amazon Canada and #92 on the US site. Yesterday it was listed at #54 in authorship and #84 in web 2.0.

This book hit the best seller lists on Amazon.com of day 1 of it's launch and has been a regular feature on the lists ever since. I'm thrilled that it's reached best seller status on other Amazon sites too making it an international best seller.

Thank you all for your continued support.
Today I'm hosted by Maria Rochelle on her blog http://mariarochelle.com/53/. In the post Maria links to a video I recorded where I explain what virtual book tours are and gives some examples of the types of stops you can include. She has also attached my media kit for Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home to the post so it can be downloaded and featured one of my #JoQuote banners from my Facebook page.

Yesterday I was guest on Dellanis Tea Time where I chatted with host +Dellani Oakes about virtual book tours, marketing online, my children's books and a loads of other stuff. Also on the show was JE Taylor and her son who spoke about their books.

Listen to the recording here:

New Writing Internet Radio with Red River Radio on BlogTalkRadio

Today Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home got another 5 star on Amazon. This one was by Sheila Allee who said "I love books like this that tell you exactly how to do things and then give you tons of resources at the end to put everything into motion. This is a must-read for authors who want to use this relatively new method of promoting their books. It is simple and straightforward, with step-by-step instructions. I will refer to it many times as I promote my own books and those of my clients."

Want to host me on your blog? Drop me and email so we can schedule.
Today my tour takes me to the blog of Victoria Adams where she reviews

Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home.

Here's a few of my favourite snippets:

"I learned a great deal from Jo’s book. She will take you through all of the steps of organizing, managing, closing and analyzing a blog tour. This little book is packed with page after page of links and references to help you find the blogs that fit you like a glass slipper. There are even commercial resources you can take advantage of, if you don’t feel confident enough to manage the first tour on your own."

"As it happens, I also work with a small publishing company, and marketing is one of our highest priorities. Her book has saved me hours of research combing through the internet. All those feeble attempts to have volunteers help me dig up suitable blogs for tours for our authors became passé the moment I read her book. For this I will be forever grateful! People are busy and volunteers do have lives."

If you've reblogged a post from this tour please let me know so I can promote it ;)
Yesterday was a day off touring but I did get in some prep for the upcoming writing challenges NaNoWriMo and NaNonFiWriMo that I'll be attempting in November along with PiBoIdMo. I know. I'm crazy. Just one of these is pretty tough and I'm planning on doing all 3. Doesn't hurt to aim high though ;)

I've also been busy checking out all the workshops at The Muse Online Writers Conference this week. Some really great info and tips were shared and I've made lots of notes that I'm sure will come in very handy next month.

Today it's back to the tour though and I'm hosted to not one but two author interviews. The lovely ladies from Page to Page are hosting me on their blogs http://alicenscott.com/2013/10/11/author-interview-jo- linsdell/  and http://mcundy.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/author-interview-with-jo-linsdell. Please take a minute to drop by, click the like, and leave a comment. All shares are also most appreciated.
