My children's book Out and About at the Zoo has been doing great since it's release on 1st June this year and recently made it to #6 in the 'Stories in Verse' category on Amazon (paperback version).

The Kindle version is now also available and can downloaded for FREE on 5th August. This offer is valid for one day only so take advantage of it while you can!

More 5 star reviews have also been posted to the product page and the number of 'likes' continues to grow. If you've read the book please drop by the page and add your review as I love to hear your feedback.

I took a few days off at the beginning of this week to concentrate on some quality family time. My husband managed to get Monday and Tuesday off work so we got to have a long weekend all together. It was great to relax for a bit, catch up with friends and most importantly play fun games with my hubby and kids. We even managed to get some D.I.Y. done around the apartment.

Sometimes taking a breather is the best way to be productive. I know that sounds a bit wrong but having given myself a break I'm now back with more energy and ideas than before.
Hurry this offer ends 27th July!

You can get 20% off any order at http://www.lulu.com/jolinsdell until 27th July 2012 by using the code: SILVERUK.

Today is my 6th wedding anniversary and so this post is just to say thank you for my lovely husband for all the love and support he has given me over the years. He's my number one fan and always proud to tell people he meets about my writing. He listens to me as I go on about my latest ideas and encourages me to continually reach higher and achieve my goals. He takes the kids out when I need a few hours to concentrate on work or have interviews to do. He is there when I'm frustrated and need a hug and there when a celebration is called for. I wouldn't be able to do it all without him ♥

Our wedding day 13 July 2006

During my promotional tour for Out and About at the Zoo I'm going to be doing some more LIVE events.

Here's the info so you can add them to your calendars:

You can find details about the other tour stops at my website

As part of my promotional efforts for my children's picture book Out and About at the Zoo I've added some free activity packs to my website. These fun book extra's can be downloaded completely free of charge. All you need to do to gain access to the files is to "pay" either with a tweet or a Facebook update.

All activity packs have a strong link to the Out and About at the Zoo book. So far I've added a word search, printable animal masks and colouring pages.

Some of the FREE animal masks

There's also a video reading of the book to watch.

All can be found on the Out and About at the Zoo page on my website.
I'm currently touring the web to promote the release of my children's picture book 'Out and About at the Zoo'. The tour is 3 months long, running over June, July and August and includes a mix of guest posts, interviews, reviews, book spotlights, Facebook wall chats, Twitter interviews, Google+ hangouts and more...

Thanks to everyone for your support.

International Literature Festival, Rome 2012

International Literature Festival, Rome 2012

In June I attended the Letturature: Festival Internazionale di Roma and had a great time. Living in Rome (Italy) I don't often get the chance to go to in-person events like this so it was exciting to be able to indulge in some bookish fun for once.

On the night I went, the big guest speaker was Madeleine Wickham A.K.A. Sophie Kinsella. It was great to be able to meet one of my favourite authors. I love her Shopaholic series.

Here's a photo of us hanging out together during the event:
