Welcome to the Blog Audit Challenge 2021

Whether you took part in a past version of this event, or if you're new to the idea of a blog audit, I hope over the next 12 months that we'll improve our blogs together. 

FYI if you did take part in last years Blog Audit Challenge know that this year won't be the same challenges as before. There will be a few elements that repeat on what we did last year but for the most part the content we'll be covering is new for this year's challenge.

Getting Better Results From Social Media

As you might already know in 2021 I'm doing the Blog Audit Challenge again. As the 2020 challenge went so well I've decided to add another challenge into the mix too. Why limit ourselves to just our blogs when we can improve our social media too, right? 

What is a social media audit?

An audit of your social media accounts let's you understand what's happening on each network. A social media audit helps create a clear picture of your current social media efforts, evaluates results, and gives you key information to build a social media strategy that works best for you and your brand.

2020 Challenges: November Update

Our focus for November was on Press and collaborations. 

The November challenges:

I'm super excited about the increase in traffic to my blog over this year and so it was great to update my stats. My monthly pageviews have almost doubled from just over 15K a month in 2019 to over 30K a month in 2020. 

1. Create a media kit for your blog.

I updated my media kit with a new photo, up to date statistics. I will be doing further updates when I have some more time as I want to analyse and work on the services I offer. 

2. Work on your Press page.

I've been making some updates to my press page over the past month. The big additions are the new media kit and updated photos. 

3. Collaborations

Task 1: Do a collaboration on your own blog. 

For this part of the challenge I decided to do a mega round up style post featuring great content by other book bloggers to create the ultimate guide for book bloggers at https://www.jolinsdell.com/2020/11/the-ultimate-guide-for-book-bloggers.html

Task 2: Get someone to host you on their blog. 

Whilst I didn't reach out to other bloggers to do guest posts or other content on their blogs this month I have been working on writing some blog posts which I plan on submitting to some sites over the coming months.

Armed with a Bingo

I'm also doing the Armed with a Bingo challenge.

I made much better progress with this challenge in November.

• Assassin's Creed, Renaissance by Oliver Bowden (a book longer than 500 pages)
• On the Rocks (a book with multiple POVs)
• Queen of the Two Lands (a fantasy/science fiction)
