About me: Jo Linsdell

Welcome! I'm Jo Linsdell

I was born and raised in the UK but found my real "home" when I came to Rome, Italy back in 2001. My plan had been to stay for just 3 days... I'm still here ;)

I've always been a free-spirit and love a challenge. That applies to both my life and my work. For me, it's not about thinking outside the box. The box simply doesn't exist.

I like to have fun with the projects I work on and throw myself into them 100%.

I'm a multi-genre author.

I LOVE creating children's picture story books but I also LOVE writing non-fiction that helps others. I also enjoy dabbling with other genres like chick-lit, thrillers, and poetry.

Nearly all the books I've written have been international best sellers which just goes to prove that just because you're good at one thing doesn't mean you can't be good at another too.

I'm an artist.

Whilst writing is one of my big passions, I also enjoy other forms of art. I illustrate my own books and work for hire illustrating books for other authors too. It's great fun to be able to work with others and put images to their words.

I'm a blogger and general social media junky.

I'm the founder and C.E.O. of Writers and Authors, a blog dedicated to people in the writing industry. I host other authors for guest posts and interviews and help them spread the message about their books. I also do posts that offer tips and advice related to book marketing, author branding, and other topics that both new and more experienced authors would find useful.

Promo Day, FREE Online International Event organised by Jo LInsdell, www.PromoDay.info
I'm an event organiser.

I'm the brain behind the annual online event Promo Day that takes place every year in May at www.PromoDay.net. A whole day dedicated to promoting, networking, and learning.

Why do I do so much to help out others in the industry? Because I like helping others. Because lots of people have supported me right from the start and it's my way of giving back. Because I believe that together we are stronger and can learn a lot from each other. If we support each other we can all move our careers forward.

I'm a reviewer.

As an indie author I know all too well the value of a review. Customer feedback is the single most powerful marketing resource you can have. Think about it, would you be more likely to buy a product because the person who made it says it's good or because several other people tell you it's good? Word of mouth is powerful.

I review books I've read because I believe in practicing what I preach. I'm not out to damage anyone though (I hope we all make it), so I never post a review of a book I can't honestly give at least 3 stars to. I follow the motto "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

I'm a mummy.

This is what I'm most proud of. My two little boys are my world. They motivate me to keep going, inspire me, and remind me to have fun.

Life's short and should be enjoyed doing what we love
