I'm back!
2019 hasn't been very kind to me so far. I've had various health problems that have meant I was forced to take a time out. This is also the reason I'll be taking it slow this month too. With all the antibiotics and other medicines I'm on at the moment it's hard to concentrate for long periods of time.
Don't panic. I'm a tough cookie and will get over all this mess too. The important thing is that my latest scan was clear which means I'm dealing with lesser evils. I'll fill you in more in a separate post.
Now on the real reason we're here.... it's Bookish Blog Hops time again!
Bookish Blog Hops: Valentine's Hop
From 1st-15th February I'll be blog hopping with the rest of the Bookish Blog Hops crew for our Valentine's Hop.
These blog hops are super fun and a great way to connect more with other book bloggers and readers. Collaborations like this always result in more traffic to the participating blogs too, as well as encouraging more engagement. It's a win-win for everyone!
I'm kicking off the hop today with our first question...
Where is your favourite place to read?
I do most of my reading in bed. I love getting comfy and snuggling down with a good book at the end of the day. It's a great way to relax.
I don't have much free time for reading during the day which is why I tend to do most of my reading in the evening once the kids are off to bed for the night.
Here's what the rest of the Bookish Blog Hop crew had to say:
Kim Jacque
I like to read on the couch in the dining room, in the afternoon sun. There is usually a dog staring at me, willing me to get up and take him for a walk.
Leslie Conzatti
This last summer I had the opportunity to acquire a very comfortable, swiveling armchair, so I set that up next to my bookshelf, and hung a shelf over that to hold all my signed indie books, so I wouldn’t have to keep them on the top shelf of my computer desk… And voila! An adorable, comfortable reading nook where I can relax and read with my favorite books just an arm’s length away!
Well, apart from my couch, I do have a weak spot for reading at coffee shops and cafés such as Espresso House or Coffeeberry.
My favorite place to read is usually outside in my hammock or by the pool. If it's too cold or raining, I have a comfy recliner in my living room I like to relax in and read. I'm hoping to find space for a reading chair in my bedroom when I redo it later this year, so I can read in peace and quiet when the men are watching basketball or hanging out.
Most of the time I get an opportunity to read when the kids are in bed so I love to either curl up in my own bed, or take a hot bubble bath and read.

My favorite place to read is in the bath. It is the only place that my kids (two and four legged) and husband won’t bother me. I read often sitting in my dining room as well when everyone is watching TV so that I can be part of the family as well.

That bath looks tempting:) I could probably read anywhere but I love to read in bed also. I just fluff those pillows, sink in and get lost in the story.
ReplyDeleteI'm always scared to read in the bath in case I drop the book in the water.
DeleteI tend to do the majority of my reading in the evening and at night as well. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Meds are starting to kick in now. Fingers crossed.
DeleteI find reading in the evening a good way to relax. The idea is it will make me sleepy.... sometimes end up reading into the morning though 🤣
Reading in a hammock outside sounds like bliss! Great post.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Made me want to get a hammock myself. Would be great in the summer.
DeleteJ, bed for me, but then kitchen, car, bathroom, doctor’s office. I always have a tablet in my hand and that is where most of my ARCs are.
ReplyDeleteI do sometimes take my ipad with me when the kids are doing their sports training. If the gym/swimming pool is quiet I can sometimes get some reading done.
DeleteI have a large comfy leather chair in my office that is positioned in front of open windows behind and to the side. I hear birds and always have a nice cross breeze.
ReplyDeleteSounds like bliss!
DeleteI love reading in a comfy chair near a window with my favorite blanket and pjs.
ReplyDeleteBlanket and PJs is perfect.
DeleteI read just about anywhere. Definitely a favorite is outside when the weather cooperates :)
ReplyDeleteI do most of my reading inside, even in the summer.
DeleteIn bed!

DeleteGreat post. I either read in the bath or bed. Although sometimes when my brain won't focus I sit at my desk reading.
ReplyDeleteBath and bed seem to be the most popular places for reading.
DeleteGreat post I read at my dinner table looking at the back door window I just love reading when there is natural light coming through the back door window. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.
ReplyDeleteYes, natural light when reading is a bit plus.
DeleteI love being snuggled up in bed for reading but in the past I've read a good deal sitting in the car while I wait for a kid to get out of school.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes read whilst my kids are doing their sports training. Good way to kill time when I'm at the gym or poolside.
DeleteCoffee shops or commuting for me. 😁
ReplyDeleteI can never seem to concentrate on reading in coffee shops. I used to read on the metro during my commute to work though.
DeleteI love reading in the bath as my waterproof Kindle gives me peace of mind to not worry about dropping it. I read anywhere - usually sofa or bed but ideally it would be on a sun lounger but underneath an umbrella for my pasty skin whilst drinking a cockltail and listening to the sea.
ReplyDeleteSun, cocktail, the sea.... I'm sold!
