Just what the Doctor ordered...

Taking time out to recharge

As you will know if you've been following me for a while, I don't have the best of health. In fact, I'm nearly always ill. This is something my Doctors and I are trying to get to the bottom of, and hopefully will get resolved soon.

As I'd been ill non-stop since the beginning of November, we decided to take a family holiday to relax and recharge in Ischia. For those of you that have never been to the small island of Ischia, it's beautiful. The views are breath-taking, and the natural hot waters created by the volcano are amazing. Just what the Doctor ordered...

I already had a nasty cough before we left, but I was hoping the fresh, clean air would do wonders and help get me healthy again. I was wrong. I had fever, coughing, and vomiting the whole time. When we got back home I had a fever of over 39° and fainted. Things were looking bad (coughing up blood is never a good sign) and so off to the hospital it was... I have pneumonia.

Luckily the antibiotics are working and I'm improving nicely. Hubby and the kids are doing a great job of looking after me, and I'm feeling hopeful that my x-rays at the end of the week will come back clean this time. Fingers crossed!

Book Review: Good, Clean Murder by Traci Tyne Hilton

Today I'm reviewing Good, Clean Murder by Traci Tyne Hilton.

I'm giving this book a 3 star rating.

About the book:

Bible school student Jane cleans houses to make ends meet. She’s getting by just fine — until she finds one of her customers murdered in his bed.

I've finally gotten round to working on the illustrations for my children's picture story book "The Bedtime Book", and couldn't be happier. Feels great to be making progress with this work in progress.

I'm working with water colours for this book (a change from my usual digital style). The illustrations will be softer and more detailed compare to my other published children's books.

Here's a look at how things are shaping up. Meet Teddy:

This is still a work in progress but I'm happy with the general feel of it. Can't wait to get started on the other characters now.

I'm still undecided about the cover design but hopefully will have some ideas to share with you soon.

Library Reads: 28th February-5th March 2016

Welcome back for another Library Reads update!

Every week I report back on the books my kids picked out from the library and what we thought of them.

This week the boys picked:

- Zoe and Beans: Hello Oscar
- George and the Dragon and the Princess

Watch the video to see what we thought of them:

What have you been reading this week? Got a suggestion of a book we should check out in the future? Leave a comment below and let me know.
