Today is the last day of the tour... and what a tour it's been! I had high expectations for this tour and can happily say I met, nearly, all of them. The one about making millions was a little unrealistic though ;)
1) Best seller status- The book is an international best seller and so I totally kicked that one :)
2) Become a best seller within first week of release- This was to set a new personal best for myself. The book became a best seller on day 1 of it's launch!
3) Have at least 10 reviews posted to Amazon- The reviews have been rolling in and all of them have been 5 stars! Although I got 9 reviews on Amazon.com, I did get others posted to the other Amazon sites and Goodreads, as well as some blogs. I can tick that one off my list too.
4) Get within the top 4 spots on relevant Goodreads lists- Reached top 4 in several lists (even made #2 on one of them) and so mission accomplished here too.
It's fair to say, this was a successful tour :)
And the last hosts and posts are....

In other news, I've finally kicked this flu. YAY! Thanks to all of you that sent me get well soon messages. I was touched by all your kind words and it really did make me feel better. You are all awesome!
Sorry for my lack of posting but flu season has started early this year in our house (it normally sets in during November) and I've been trying to rest up as much as possible so I can kick this asap (I'm not good at being ill and find it hard to do nothing so this week is a challenge). In fact, I haven't stopped completely. The show, or in this case, the tour, must go on!
Yesterday I was hosted by +Claudia Moss for a wall chat on her Facebook page where we chatted about all sorts of things. If you missed the live event you can check out the transcript here

You'll notice that the post mentions Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home in my bio and so it's more of a cross promotion. The piece came about because my host tends to post about fiction on this blog and loves to use video content. As I'm a multi genre author we decided this was a good way to kill more birds with the one stone. As Fairy May was also released this year it was nice to get a bit more exposure for that book too.
You'll have noticed from following this tour that stops don't need to always have their main focus on the book your touring (obviously this will depend on the goals you've set for your tour). Some stops can be like this one and allow cross promotion for various titles or be author spotlights where the focus is about you and building your author brand. In the end they all promote your book. Some just do it in a slightly less direct way

This book hit the best seller lists on Amazon.com of day 1 of it's launch and has been a regular feature on the lists ever since. I'm thrilled that it's reached best seller status on other Amazon sites too making it an international best seller.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Today I'm going to be interviewed for Blog Talk Radio by host Dellani Oakes. Tune in at 10pm CET when we'll be chatting about virtual book tours and a whole bunch of other stuff. Also on the show is a writing pair (mother and son).
I've been featured on this show before and it's always a lot of fun. Dellani is really easy to chat with and conversation is always interesting. I hope you'll tune in and join us.

Today my tour takes me to the blog of Victoria Adams where she reviews
Virtual Book Tours: Effective Online Book Promotion From the Comfort of Your Own Home.
Here's a few of my favourite snippets:
"I learned a
great deal from Jo’s book. She will take you through all of the steps of
organizing, managing, closing and analyzing a blog tour. This little book is
packed with page after page of links and references to help you find the blogs
that fit you like a glass slipper. There are even commercial resources you can
take advantage of, if you don’t feel confident enough to manage the first tour
on your own."
"As it
happens, I also work with a small publishing company, and marketing is one of
our highest priorities. Her book has saved me hours of research combing through
the internet. All those feeble attempts to have volunteers help me dig up
suitable blogs for tours for our authors became passé the moment I read her
book. For this I will be forever grateful! People are busy and volunteers do
have lives."

If you've reblogged a post from this tour please let me know so I can promote it ;)
Yesterday was a day off touring but I did get in some prep for the upcoming writing challenges NaNoWriMo and NaNonFiWriMo that I'll be attempting in November along with PiBoIdMo. I know. I'm crazy. Just one of these is pretty tough and I'm planning on doing all 3. Doesn't hurt to aim high though ;)
I've also been busy checking out all the workshops at The Muse Online Writers Conference this week. Some really great info and tips were shared and I've made lots of notes that I'm sure will come in very handy next month.
