Welcome back for another Book Bloggers Round Up!
I introduced this feature here on the blog in May 2021 to showcase blog posts by other book bloggers and as it continues to be a popular series I've decided to continue again this year too.
Each month I'll include a wide variety of content so there's something for everyone. You'll find book reviews, interviews, discussion pieces and more...
So if you're looking for new bookish content to read and/or want to discover some new book bloggers to follow, look no further!
Why I do this feature:
Scanning through various social media feeds to find suitable content can take up valuable time and so I figured I'd make it easier and put together a collection here on the blog.
It's also a way for me to highlight some of the other great book bloggers out there and help promote books and reading at the same time.
How it works:
Each month I do a post via my Twitter, where I offer the opportunity for book bloggers to submit posts published during that month for inclusion in this round up. I do this every month.
Want to be included in future round ups? Follow my Twitter profile and keep an eye out for the submission tweet.
@DanSamEnd reviewed Songlight by Moira Buffini. "This really is dystopian at its best! The world-building is stunning, the idyllic setting contrasting with the hidden horrors. It’s complex, emotive and impressive as this tale of power, politics, freedom, and survival unravels." Read the full post here.
@WordsofMystery joined the book tour for A BĂ¡nh Mì for Two by Trinity Nguyen. "...a heartfelt and low-stakes story with a Sapphic romance that serves not only as a love letter to Vietnamese girls but also as a heartwarming homage to Vietnamese cuisine, tradition, and language." Read the full post here.
@leftontheshelf1 reviewed Loose Ends by Ninette Hartley. "This book had everything that you would expect to find in a book of this genre; challenges, romance and secrets. It was extremely enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone who likes fiction about strong women set again a working class background during World War II." Read the full post here.

Today I'm doing the Evolution of BookTuber Tag.
I've chosen to do this tag because I realised I've been on BookTube for 17 years now (before BookTube was even a thing) and my channel has evolved a lot over that time.
(1) EXTINCTION: Are there things you used to do on your channel that you no longer do?
(2) ADAPTATION: What things have you done on your channel or as a result of being on BookTube that you never thought you would do?
(3) EVOLUTION: how has BookTube changed you and what do you aspire to do on your channel in the future?
(4) BONUS PROMPT: Impart your words of wisdom to all of the fledgling BookTubers out there!
(5) TAG SOME PEOPLE!

I'm participating in First Lines Fridays as I think it's a great way to highlight more of the books that are on my bookshelves.
What is First Lines Fridays?
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
Finally… reveal the book!
My Pick For This Week
The first lines of the book:
Around midnight, her eyes at last took shape. The look in them was feline, half determined and half tentative- all trouble. Yes, they were right, those eyes. Rising up to her fine, elegant brow, inches from the dark cascade of her hair.
Do you know which book this is from? Scroll down to find out!
And the book is...
Book synopsis for Fallen by Lauren Kate
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce—and goes out of his way to make that very clear—she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret… even if it kills her.

The book synopsis for The Key to Surviving Summer by Sandi Van
It's the summer before sophomore year, and Moe is stuck in the middle of Nowhere-ville, in a broken-down cottage on Lake Ontario with no one her age for miles. Her neighbor's grandson, Zeke, definitely doesn't count. He is only eight, but desperation and loneliness force Moe to follow Zeke on his adventures. After a nasty storm, Moe finds a strange key and begins having visions of a girl roller-skating at sunset and then disappearing into the lake. Moe and Zeke comb the shoreline looking for clues, but when his grandparents find out, they forbid Zeke from spending any more time with Moe. Faced with even more isolation and increasingly vivid visions, Moe must figure out what happened to the mysterious girl and why it forced her temporary hometown into silence.

In this enthralling dystopian YA thriller where emotions become weapons, the fight for humanity’s true essence takes centre stage.
In a near-future Britain, society’s calm facade conceals a sinister truth: the state maintains its control by meddling with the nation’s water supply. The result? A population lulled into apathy. Lulled, apart from a courageous few known as the Resistors.
New Resistor Owyn joins lifelong Resistor Tiegan in a fierce quest for freedom. Spurred on by the promise of a mass Resistance, they ignite a chain of events that shakes the foundations of Britain’s oppressive regime.
One thing is clear: the price of freedom is higher than they ever imagined.
S. J. Baker teaches English in a secondary school in Hull, where she does her best to pass on her own love for reading and writing to her students. Books have always loomed large in Ms. Baker’s life, so it was perhaps inevitable that after completing a degree in English Literature at Cambridge she should train as a teacher and spend her career sharing her love of story-telling with young people. Reading aloud to her own children as they grew up confirmed her in the belief that we learn much about life and how to live well from the books that we read. She lives in East Yorkshire with her husband and two exuberant black Labradors.
