Come Join Me at #PD15 Today

The big day is finally here! Today is Promo Day! I'll be over at all day today, and also busy on social media with the hashtag #PD15.

I hope you'll all come and join me for my webinar Visual Content for Authors during today's event, and connect both via the event forums and via social media.

I'm really proud of where Promo Day is now and the success it continues to have each year. I personally get a lot out of the event and know from feedback that others do too which makes it doubly gratifying.

Registration will remain open all day so you still have time to register and be part of the fun. Just go to and click on the "Register Now" tab in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

International Best Selling Book "How to be Twittertastic" to be Released in Print Format

Following the success of the kindle version of the book since it's release in June 2014, I'm super excited to be able to announce that How to be Twittertastic will soon be launched in print format.

International Best Selling Book "How to be Twittertastic" to be Released in Print Format

A huge thanks goes out to my friend and formatting guru +V.L. Jennings for all her help in getting this print perfect. She really saved the day.

The print version will be available for purchase later on this week via Amazon and other major retailers. If you can-t wait that long though you can grab a copy now at and be one of the first to have a print copy ;)

If you'd like to host me on your blog or social media profile for the launch of the print version this June then please drop me an email to let me know where and when. Thanks in advance for your support.

#RhyPiBoMo: The Last Week

Sorry for the delayed posting this last installment about the RhyPiBoMo challenge. This should have gone up last week but I was busy with the May day weekend and well it didn't. Here it is now though. Better late than never right? ;)

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm taking part in the RhyPiBoMo challenge this month. It's been a fun and inspiring month. I've loved connecting with other writers and book lovers, and have learnt loads in the various blog posts and discussions.

I didn't manage to read as many rhyming children's books as I'd have liked too but I'm glad I took part.

#RhyPiBoMo: The Challenge so far,

Favourite blog posts from the last week at
  • Day 24-  Agent Kendra Marcus. Great points about the common pitfalls of rhyming children's picture books and the importance of having a strong story.
  • Day 22- Ed DeCaria. Awesome post about first lines. How can you not like a post that starts with...

"First lines are like fangs. They break your readers’ skin, take hold deep within, and draw them — willingly or not — into your world."

You can read my other weekly updates from this challenge here:

Other stuff:

I came across this old but great post by a cyber buddy of mine Margot Finke at about rhyme and meter. Lots of good resources and the poem at the end is great.

Did you take part in RhyPiBoMo too? What was your favourite book from this month?

A big thank you to all of you that read my rhyming children's picture story books; Out and About at the Zoo, and Fairy May as part of this months challenge. I really appreciate your support and encourage you to leave a review as I love hearing your feedback.

Celebrating Children's Book Week

This week is Children's Book Week

Established in 1919, Children's Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes -- wherever young readers and books connect! Children's Book Week is administered by Every Child A Reader, a 501(c)(3) literacy organization dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of reading in children. The Children's Book Council, the national non-profit trade association for children's book publishers, is an anchor sponsor.
