#RhyPiBoMo: The Last Week

Sorry for the delayed posting this last installment about the RhyPiBoMo challenge. This should have gone up last week but I was busy with the May day weekend and well it didn't. Here it is now though. Better late than never right? ;)

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm taking part in the RhyPiBoMo challenge this month. It's been a fun and inspiring month. I've loved connecting with other writers and book lovers, and have learnt loads in the various blog posts and discussions.

I didn't manage to read as many rhyming children's books as I'd have liked too but I'm glad I took part.

Favourite blog posts from the last week at https://angiekarcher.wordpress.com
  • Day 24-  Agent Kendra Marcus. Great points about the common pitfalls of rhyming children's picture books and the importance of having a strong story.
  • Day 22- Ed DeCaria. Awesome post about first lines. How can you not like a post that starts with...

"First lines are like fangs. They break your readers’ skin, take hold deep within, and draw them — willingly or not — into your world."

Other stuff:

I came across this old but great post by a cyber buddy of mine Margot Finke at http://www.underdown.org/mf-rhyme-and-meter.htm about rhyme and meter. Lots of good resources and the poem at the end is great.

Did you take part in RhyPiBoMo too? What was your favourite book from this month?

A big thank you to all of you that read my rhyming children's picture story books; Out and About at the Zoo, and Fairy May as part of this months challenge. I really appreciate your support and encourage you to leave a review as I love hearing your feedback.
