From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a thrilling contemporary romance that “burns with all the brilliance and fire of a finely cut diamond”(Publishers Weekly).
Antiques dealer Laine Tavish is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. At least, that's what everyone in the small town of Angel's Gap, Maryland, thinks. They have no idea that she used to be Elaine O'Hara, the daughter of a notorious con man...
Laine's past catches up with her when one of Big Jack's associates turns up in her shop with a cryptic warning and is then run down in the street. Now the next target of a ruthless killer, Laine teams up with sexy PI Max Gannon to find out who's chasing her, and why. The anwer lies in a hidden fortune that will change Laine's life forever...
Lara Lington has always had an overactive imagination, but suddenly that imagination seems to be in overdrive. Normal professional twenty-something young women don’t get visited by ghosts. Or do they?
When the spirit of Lara’s great-aunt Sadie—a feisty, demanding girl with firm ideas about fashion, love, and the right way to dance—mysteriously appears, she has one request: Lara must find a missing necklace that had been in Sadie’s possession for more than seventy-five years, because Sadie cannot rest without it.
Lara and Sadie make a hilarious sparring duo, and at first it seems as though they have nothing in common. But as the mission to find Sadie’s necklace leads to intrigue and a new romance for Lara, these very different “twenties” girls learn some surprising truths from and about each other. Written with all the irrepressible charm and humor that have made Sophie Kinsella’s books beloved by millions, Twenties Girl is also a deeply moving testament to the transcendent bonds of friendship and family.
Elizabeth George's masterly new novel brings Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley back onto centre stage in an intricate crime drama. While DI Thomas Lynley is still on compassionate leave after the murder of his wife, Isabelle Ardery is brought into the Met as his temporary replacement. The discovery of a body in a Stoke Newington cemetery offers Isabelle the chance to make her mark with a high profile murder investigation. Persuading Lynley back to work seems the best way to guarantee a result: Lynley's team is fiercely loyal to him and Isabelle needs them - and especially Barbara Havers - on side. The Met is twitchy: a series of PR disasters has undermined its confidence. Isabelle knows that she'll be operating under the unforgiving scrutiny of the media, so is quick - perhaps too quick - to pin the murder on a convenient suspect. The murder trail leads Lynley and Havers to the New Forest, and the eventual resolution of the case. Its roots are in a long-ago act of violence that has poisoned subsequent generations and its outcome is both tragic and shocking.

Wow, you love crime and mystery... like me. We have a lot of things in common! :-D
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia. I LOVE a good crime/mystery read. I'm also a huge fan of thrillers. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. It certainly does look like we have a lot in common :)
DeleteI haven’t read any of these books but I do love these three authors.
ReplyDeleteThe only author of the 3 that I haven't read before is Elizabeth George. I love other books by Sophie Kinsella and Nora Roberts though so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy these too.
DeleteI wish we had a second hand book store where I live. The only book store here is a major corporation bookstore and most of their books are pretty expensive. Hot rocks by Norah Robert's sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteI don't go to this shop very often but when I'm in the area I always pop in to have a look. Most of the books they have are in Italian but sometimes I manage to find some in English too... and all at bargain prices. English language books in the big bookstores here tend to be expensive here too.
DeleteGREAT HAUL!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn. Looking forward to reading them all.
DeleteWow... It's Amazing đŸ’–
ReplyDeleteI love a good bargain book haul ;)
DeleteI have never read nor heard about any of these but they all sounds interesting! And I like how they are under different genres. i also love that quote! đŸ’–đŸ’–đŸ’–
ReplyDeleteThat quote is one of my favourites :)
DeleteI used to avoid the thrillers - but now I actively seek them out. BTW - I am just loving your haircut!
ReplyDeleteThrillers are my favourite genre. I particularly like physiological thrillers, although anything in the crime/mystery genre tends to appeal to me. I like easy read romance too though.
DeleteI'm enjoying my new shorter hair. So much easier and quicker to style in the morning. It's still hot here in Rome too so it's nice not to have all that long hair on my neck anymore.
Great haul Jo! They all sound like great books. I love second hand finds.
ReplyDeleteFinding English language books in this second hand shop is like finding a treasure. when they do get them, they price them low because there's not many people looking for them. For me, it makes my day.
DeleteAhh, I am living vicariously through your book shopping trip. I have restricted myself from getting any new books until I get caught up...which will be never...and I have cheated and still got new books! (eBooks, so no proof on my home bookshelves!!)
ReplyDeleteI was on a book buying ban myself. My Net Galley shelf is out of control and so I decided not to buy any more books until I caught up again but.... these were a bargain and I just couldn't say no.
DeleteSounds like a great book haul! Hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda. I'm looking forward to getting started on reading them.
DeleteWow, you found some great books.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy with my finds. I usually get excited if I manage to find one, so finding three English language books is awesome.
DeleteAll new books to me, but they sound like great reads.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to getting started on reading them all.
