Welcome to my September 2024 wrap up!

September is my birthday month and so it's also one of my favourite months of the year. This year I levelled up to 44 (I'm getting old 😱).

Here's a break down of what I got up to this month:

Wrapping Up September: What Happened This Month

Hair

After the hair adventure that was August (multiple hair dyes, bleaching twice, and then more hair dye) I decided it was best to give some TLC to my locks this month.

I've been using L'Orèal Elvive Dream Long Rapid Reviver Hair Cream which was my product of the year for 2023 (you can find my review here).

I've also been making a point of washing my hair less. I'm trying to do it just once a week. The idea being that I give my natural oils the chance to build up a bit. Better scalp health = better hair health.

On the 29th I woke up and decided to cut and dye my hair. I used the same ash blonde as the one I used at the end of last month as needed to blend in my roots. It's crazy how fast my hair grows! It came out a little darker than last time but meant that I didn't need to bleach my roots beforehand which is definitely a win.

For the cut I went for a long bob. I took about 5cms off the ends. My hair is now feeling super soft and looking much healthier.

Health

I got ill again 😞 Not really surprising considering the weather we've been having. We went from 40 degrees to 25 degrees with rain and wind from one day to the next. Then it was hot again, then colder with more rain, then hot.... It's been so up and down we never know how to dress in the morning.

Then there's the start of the school term. Every year when they go back to school all the cold's and other bugs start doing the rounds.

It was predictable that I would catch something and I did. First a cold. Actually just a cold, which was good going for me as I usually never get just a cold. Unfortunately straight afterwards I got a nasty cough. All better now though so considering myself lucky this time round.

Blogging

September was another amazing month for traffic. I'm blown away by all the support for the blog this year. I'm thrilled to be hitting my goals for this year and seeing such positive reactions to my content.

If there's any particular topics you'd like me to cover in the future please get in touch and let me know.

Blog traffic stats for www.JoLinsdell.com taken 1st Oct 2024 am
Stats as of this morning (1st Oct 2024)

Traffic for September: 122,769 page-views

Number of blog posts published in September: 22

Current DA score: 27

My previous PB for traffic was last month with 104,150 views in August.

Most of my traffic came from (in order) 1) Organic Search 2) Direct 3) Organic Social. For Social, the top three sources where (in order) 1) Twitter 2) Pinterest 3) Facebook.

This month I continued going through older posts and updating them. Mainly just graphics, some headings (to improve SEO), checking for broken links, etc...

I did a blog audit towards the end of the month and discovered that a lot of my older posts where missing meta descriptions and headers so I spent quite a lot of time this month going through and adding those. Although it was a tedious task, it did actually make me feel good about how far I've come and all the things I've learnt over the years.

I think it's important to take a minute to look back once in a while and note the progress and growth that's been made. I personally find it very motivating to keep going. Onwards and upwards!

I also made sure I scheduled posts in advance both here for the blog and promotional posts on social media.

On 25th September I was the #BlogOfTheDay for @The_WriteReads on Twitter which featured my post 44 Tips For Bloggers.

My eldest had a homework assignment to take a selfie in front of Baroque fountains in Rome so I went with him. I love the Baroque style especially the work of Bernini and Rome has quite a lot.

Fitness

This month, I decided to try out some workouts using the Fit On App. I'm enjoying the workout routines and have tried some of their meditation sessions too. I'll do a full review once I've explored it more.
