July 2024 Book Blogger Posts Round Up

A collection of blog posts by book bloggers

Welcome back for another Book Bloggers Round Up!

I introduced this feature here on the blog in May 2021 to showcase blog posts by other book bloggers and as it continues to be a popular series I've decided to continue again this year too.

Each month I'll include a wide variety of content so there's something for everyone. You'll find book reviews, interviews, discussion pieces and more...

So if you're looking for new bookish content to read and/or want to discover some new book bloggers to follow, look no further!

Why I do this feature:

Scanning through various social media feeds to find suitable content can take up valuable time and so I figured I'd make it easier and put together a collection here on the blog.

It's also a way for me to highlight some of the other great book bloggers out there and help promote books and reading at the same time.

How it works:

Each month I do a post via my Twitter, where I offer the opportunity for book bloggers to submit posts published during that month for inclusion in this round up. I do this every month.

Want to be included in future round ups? Follow my Twitter profile and keep an eye out for the submission tweet.

@WS_BOOKCLUB featured the collection Tales of Mystery: Dead for a Spell. "Tales of Mystery: Dead for a Spell gathers together a truly varied smorgasbord of excellent fantasy mysteries. From a knife that kills on its own, to a daring acorn theft, each story is a reminder of how unique the fantasy genre is." Read the full post here.

@cjfriess reviewed The Wrong Shoes by Tom Percival. "The Wrong Shoes takes a heart wrenching, emotional look at the challenges faced by children living in extreme poverty. It provoked so many different emotional responses as I became immersed in Will’s struggles against an array of problems stemming from his father’s ill health and their lack of money." Read the full post here.

@caru25 did an Author Spotlight on Nicholas Sparks. "This month’s reading challenge theme at Blogchatter is all about shining the spotlight on your favorite author. So, I thought, why not take advantage of this opportunity to glorify my favorite author, the one who ignited my passion for reading and got me hooked to the world of books. That author, for me, is Nicholas Sparks." Read the full post here.

@JennMitchell3rd reviewed The Last Bookstore on Earth by Lily Braun-Arnold. "I really enjoyed reading this. I love a good apocalypse story, and I am a bookseller, so this was perfectly positioned for me. It's a fantastic read and I absolutely devoured it. I very much hope there'll be a sequel!" Read the full post here.

@WorldsUnlikeOO reviewed Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes. "Overall, this was an underwhelming read and it didn’t live up to the rather high expectations I had for it. It didn’t really work for me, however, if you’re new to these myths, it would probably be a good introduction." Read the full post here.

@DanSamEnd took part in the book tour for Faith Of Their Fathers by Samuel M. Sargeant. "A spectacular debut taking the reader on an epic Viking adventure brimming with battles, vengeance and sacrifice. It’s tense and compelling with a whodunnit mystery that will keep you guessing – an unputdownable read!" Read the full post here.

@ReadingLadiesBC did a collaboration post (featuring me!) Summer’s One Must Read Book 2024.  Read the full post here.

@portybelle reviewed The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood. "It takes quite some skill to write a book including themes of loneliness and grief with a protagonist who is technically dead and yet still make it funny and entertaining. Kirsty Greenwood demonstrates she has this skill in spades. I loved this one!" Read the full post here.

@TStrawberryPost posted 5 Great Books to Read This Summer. Read the full post here.

@bookmarknook reviewed Belly Woman by Benjamin Black. "One of the best things about this book is how it makes you think deeper about significant issues. Like how the world reacts to such crises, how we treat those suffering, and how important events can change society. Black doesn’t just tell stories; he makes us ask ourselves tough questions about support, fear, and recovery." Read the full post here.
