Product Review: Natural & Easy 580 Natural Dark Brown Hair Dye

Hey there, hair dye enthusiasts! If you've been here before you'll know I often change my hair colour. Having been various shades of blonde for a while I decided to go a bit darker again. After having dyed my hair a few times with the Schwarzkopf Natural & Easy 565 Natural Golden Light Brown Hair Dye, I decided to go even darker. This time I'm sharing my thoughts about the Natural & Easy 580 Natural Dark Brown Hair Dye.

Review

I absolutely love this product and have been consistently impressed with the quality of the Natural & Easy range. Shade 580 Natural Dark Brown has quickly become a favourite of mine. The colour is rich, natural-looking, and gives my hair a healthy shine without appearing overly dark or artificial.

The application process is very straightforward, even for someone without much experience dyeing their hair at home. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the formula itself is smooth and non-drip, which makes it far less messy than some other brands I’ve tried in the past.

What I particularly appreciate about this range is how gentle it is on the hair. After using this dye, my hair feels soft and well-conditioned, not dry or damaged like it has with some other products. The included conditioner is lovely and leaves my hair feeling nourished and manageable.

I’ve used a few other shades from the Natural & Easy collection in the past, and they’ve all delivered pretty good results, but I think I’ve finally found “my” colour with the Natural Dark Brown. It suits my skin tone perfectly and gives a very polished, yet natural appearance. I’m planning to stick with this shade for a while... probably...maybe...or at least until I get the urge to change things up again (if you've been here before you know the chances of this happening are high 🤣).

All in all, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy-to-use, reliable home hair dye that delivers beautiful, natural results.

Restructuring Hair Mask with Argan Oil Complex

Today I'm sharing my thoughts about the Vitalcare Imperial Argan - Restructuring Hair Mask for Dry and Damaged Hair, with Argan Oil Complex, Restructuring Hair Mask, 25 ml.

As you might know, I'm on a bit of a mission to improve the overall condition of my hair at the moment. In recent months I put it through quite a lot in terms of bleaching and various box dyes. It's time for some TLC.

Over the years I've tried and tested a lot of different hair dye colours, each with their own pro's and con's. Blonde hair in particular tends to cause the most damage and so needs a little extra attention to combat the dryness and keep it looking healthy, shiny and feeling soft.

As I've had good experiences with the Vitalcare range in the past I'm optimistic about the Imperial Argan Restructuring Hair Mask.

When I found this sample packet on offer for just €0,50 I figured I'd give it a try. The RRP for the 500ml jar is just €7,10 so it's a good product for those on a tighter budget.

Whilst it was only enough for one use (25ml), it did leave my hair feeling much softer and reduced the frizz a bit too.

Overall I think it would be worth getting the bigger 500ml jar to try it out over a longer period of time.

Creative Studio Cocoa Blonde Hair Dye

If you've been reading my recent monthly wrap up posts you'll know that I'd been wanting to change things up again with my hair.

I decided I wanted to go a bit darker again. I know, I know... I'm always changing my mind about my hair. Life is too short to have boring hair though. The best part is that if you don't like it you can always change it again.

Anyway, when I went shopping I couldn't find a box dye in the right shade for what I had in mind and so got myself a tube of Creative Studio 6/7 Cocoa Blonde Hair Dye to mix myself with my go-to oxidizing emulsion by VitalCare Professional 20 Volume.

Review

I'm not going to lie to you, the end result was darker than I'd imagined it being. Then again, going from a very light blonde to a darker shade always feels like it's darker than you think it'll be.

I'm super happy though and actually like the colour more than the colour I thought it would be like. It definitely has more reddish warm tones that I was expecting but that turned out to be what I liked most about it.

Here's the before and after so you can see the change:

Quite a drastic difference I think you'll agree. This after photo was taken right after dying my hair so this is the fresh colour result.

I've found in the past that going from blonde to darker shades, especially red tones, that the colour tends to fade quite a bit after a few washes.

This is what the colour looks like roughly 3 weeks after dying it:

As you can see, it did lose some colour but overall I'm really happy with the results. I would definitely try more colours in the Creative Studio range in the future.

Natural & Easy 530 Hair Dye

I tried another hair dye. I'm undecided at the moment about what I want to do with my hair next. Part of me likes being blonde but part of me wants to go brown again. There's also a little part of me that wouldn't mind going back to a reddish shade... I'm a mess I know.

It's not just the colour I can't make up my mind about either. It's taken all my will power to not reach for the scissors. I'm torn about style too.

Do I go back to a pixie cut? Great for daily low effort styling but my hair grows quickly and so needs constant trimming to keep the cut looking good.

Do I just go a little shorter and opt for a bob or lob? This is definitely low maintenance and the most practical cut in terms of length. Do I want more layers in it though or do I want to grow out the layers I have already?

Do I continue to let it grow and go for a longer style again? I love having long hair but it's a lot of work to keep looking nice as I have masses of hair. It takes forever to dry.

Then I'm unsure about whether to go back to my natural curls again or keep wearing it straight...

Any feedback and suggestions about what you think I should do with my hair next is welcome as I feel like I want a change but just can't seem to decide which way to go. Help me please!

Until I make up my mind I've decided to not do anything drastic (unlike me I know. I usually get an idea pop into my head and just do it straight away).

Anyway, this time I was looking to freshen up my light blonde and go a shade darker and blend in my roots a bit better without using bleach.

I decided to try out the Testanera (Schwarzkopf) Natural & Easy 530 Hair Dye. I've used other shades from this brand in the past and got good results with some and less good results with others. This particular shade was on offer and looked like it would do the job so I figured I'd give it a try.

Review

I've got to be honest with you, it really didn't make that much difference. I thought the overall blonde was going to be a little darker but it didn't seem to change at all.

That said, it did blend in the roots a bit better. It also covered the few small slightly yellowish parts I had near the roots from when I bleached my roots the last time and they didn't lift quite enough and helped to blend them in better with the rest of the blonde.

It did leave my hair feeling softer though so that's a plus point.

I was going for a subtle change and it definitely is subtle... a little too subtle.

When it comes to Natural & Easy hair dyes I've without doubt had better success when using their darker shades than I have with their blonde selection.

Product Review: L'Orèal Elvive Dream Long Rapid Reviver Hair Cream

I'm not a natural blonde. I bleach my hair and we all know that doing so can damage the condition of the hair quite considerably. Is that going to stop me from being blonde? No, it is not. I like being blonde... at least until I change my mind and decide to try a different colour (I have been known to change my hair colour quite often).

Anyway, all this bleach and hair dye means I'm always on the look out for great products to give my hair the TLC it so desperately needs.

I have found my favourite product of the year!

Review

As with most L'Orèal Elvive products the price range isn't crazy expensive which means it's budget friendly to those of us who don't have huge amounts of money to thrown around for our hair products.

L'Orèal Elvive Dream Long Rapid Reviver Hair Cream is seriously the best product I've tried. After just one use it left my hair so soft I couldn't believe. I should also point out that the first time I used it was directly after having bleached my hair again, so it had it's work cut out for it. Not only did it not disappoint, it went way beyond my expectations. I left it on my hair for 2-3 minutes before washing it out so it didn't require a long leave-in time to get results either.

Another plus point is that you don't need a large amount of the product. This means that the bottle should last for at least a few months.

I will definitely be buying this again. I'll also now be trying the other products in the Dream Long range.
