How To Use Pinterest For Blog Ideas

Pinterest is one of the most popular social media platforms, and with good reason. It's a visual platform that makes it easy to share photos, videos and other content. And while Pinterest users are often sharing their own pins (I highly recommend creating multiple pins for all your blog posts), you can use this platform to get ideas for blog posts as well.

I LOVE Pinterest! I can (and do) spend hours scrolling the site. I use it for inspiration for pretty much anything and everything; recipes, home decorating, travel... the list goes on. I also use it to create pins for my blog posts and YouTube video's. One of my favourite ways to use it though is for book blogging ideas.

Seriously, Pinterest is a gold mine of inspiration when it comes to finding new ideas for blog posts.

Using Pinterest to Inspire Your Book Blog

Follow other book bloggers who post on Pinterest

There are a lot of great book blogs out there, but if you're not familiar with them, it can be hard to know where to start. To find new book bloggers to follow on Pinterest, use this search tool: http://www.pinterest.com/search/?q=book+blogger&sort=DESC&filter=tags%20descending&page=1&search_items_per_page=10

Search for hashtags

  • Search for tags like #amreading, #bookblogger, and #bookstagram. These are the types of searches that will give you ideas for blog posts.

  • Find other bloggers who post about books or have similar interests to yours (e.g., they might love reading and writing).

  • Find people who share your passion for reading/writing/etc.

Research popular topics in your niche

  • Use the search function to find popular pins.

  • Find out what people are interested in reading about.

  • Find out what people are interested in buying.

  • Find out what people are interested in seeing and sharing on Pinterest, for example: "I love this idea!" or "This is my favorite book!"

Share your best posts on Pinterest

Share your best posts on Pinterest. This step is simple and can take just a few minutes.

Share the post, not just the link. Once you've created an account, share your blog post as usual, but also include a brief summary of it in this section before linking out to your blog post itself.
